Just did 8 day rental with payless.
The cost was ~$450 for a hyundai elantra.
Nice car did 300 miles and got almost 30 mpg.
They charged $30 for roadside protection and $160
for liability insurance. We use american express
and for $15 they "cover" the other insurances no matter
how long. More importantly deal with all the paperwork (supposedly)as long as you take the rental car liability.
$20/day for liability is $7/day more than Alamo.
and the $30 for roadside protection is something new to us.
We usually rent through Costco for Alamo but they didn't have any deals. We went through jetblue for the payless rental.
Everything went well but it was a little pricey with all the taxes, surcharges, state taxes, convention center charge. Even Clark County had a piece.
