Re: [vpFREE] Re: Good Times Rollin' in NOLA
couple didn't tie up those machines 24 hours a day (literally; management
indulges them, for obvious reasons) until they hit the progressive (i don't
know what their trigger amount is).

Hi Bob:
The progressive jackpot is on the royal only. There are three of them, each
at the end of a double row of machines. The middle one was over $5,000 but
was tied up by a husband-wife team that would play it all day then close
it overnight. They also closed it periodically during the day ... to eat, I
would guess. The progressive on the one on the left was around $4,300 and
the one on the right, that Hedy lit up, was around $4,200. The meters are
very slow. Only one time in all the trips we've made to New Orleans did we
ever see one of the royals over $6,000.
Like you, I'm not very savvy about Facebook, so I don't know how to access
anything on it. It's Hedy's thing.

Thanks for the exciting trip report. I'm not too Facebook-savy, but do
you have a link to the pics on Facebook?

Thanks Seed,
I don't really need to know "who" hit it and I appreciate that you don't want to give their name. I am happy to know that it was someone who was trying for it, for some reason that seems more "correct". What luck.

I know who hit it, but I don't think it's my place to out them. I will say that it was someone that has played it a fair share and not some lucky tourist that put in $100 on a whim. It was hit in late July for a little over $145,400.

So you're fine with Chinese being racist, but not with Americans being racist.

IMO Little Buddah is overpriced and mediocre.
Ping Pang Pong and Noodle Exchange at the Gold Coast are both pretty good.
I've ordered from the Cathay House menu inside the Palms cafe a few times
now and it's not bad either.
If you forced me to choose one, I'd go with the Gold Coast options right
now mostly out of familiarity but I might change my opinion after a few
more visits to CH.

Hope this isn't too off topic but I entered Cathay House at 7:05 pm since
I was checking time for another reason.
Waiter did not take order until 7:23 pm. By 8:05 p.m. Chinese couple next to
me
who had come in later and ordered later, was served and eating a couple of
dishes.
Left without food arriving and I wondered what is the world record for
length of time to have a
relatively simple dish of food served.

That's a heck of a reason for any restaurant to screw over anyone.
[vpFREE] Re: Guinness World Record at Cathay House, Palms?
"...Most people dont realize that most of the people in the world do not like Americans even when in America..."
Not true. See this 2011 poll:
http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/views_on_countriesregions_bt/680.php?lb=brglm&pnt=680&nid=&id=
"...Of the countries surveyed, 18 hold predominantly positive views of the US, seven hold negative views and two are divided. On average , 49 per cent of people have positive views of US influence in the world--up four points from 2010--and 31 per cent hold negative views. The poll, conducted by GlobeScan/PIPA, asked a total of 28,619 people to rate the influence in the world of 16 major nations, plus the European Union..."
Go back 4 years and you are very correct but not right now.

Comon! Are you that hard up for an argument to bring the word racist into this discussion. Its not racism its taking care of your own which every country does. Most people dont realize that most of the people in the world do not like Americans even when in America.
