[vpFREE] Re: Best Randomness Analogy Contest

That's a tough question better suited to the Wizard of Odds, but I'll take a shot at it. There are 11^36=3.09127E+37 possible results from tossing the dice 36 times. You can get the odds of the exact sequence (2,3,3,4,4,4...) by multipling all the probabilities, the result is 3.27375E-36. But this sequence can be arranged many ways, I come up with 4.32569E+29 possibilities (36 ways to place the 2, 35 ways to place the 12, 34x33/2 ways to place the two 3's...). Multiply the two and you get 1.41612E-06 which is about the same as the odds of getting a dealt royal (1.53908E-06).

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Best Randomness Analogy Contest

True, but as the number of rolls approaches infinity the distribution will be exactly that.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: 8/5 Bonus Poker Quick Quads

Correction: the numbers I gave were multiplied by 5, i.e. for a $5 single-line
machine, or $1 (5-play), not $1 single-line. Allow me to restate:

o For $5 single-line ($30 wager), holding TK despite a fp costs about $0.20,
holding TK despite a 9p costs $0.01.

o For $1 single-line ($6 wager), holding TK despite a fp costs about $0.04, and
holding TK despite a 9p costs about $0.003 (3-tenths of a cent).

But I don't think that was your question. If you're asking what the game EV
difference is between playing computer-perfect (i.e. playing the penalty-card
situations correctly) versus always preferring the K over TK, then I do not know
the answer; I do not have the tool to compute that. In other words, I do not
know how much the game EV drops from the computer-perfect EV of 99.5495% if you
always hold K over TK. It's a very small drop, to be sure, since such hands
doesn't occur very often, and the two holds are very close in value to begin
with: both holds have an total EV of about 2.35-2.40 coins for a 6-coin wager.

[vpFREE] Re: This is cool

I assume the extra "value" is in the autographs, to someone who is a collector of poker books. I am such a collector, but not so much so as to pay that kind of money, even with the autographs. If I win the lottery in a few days, I might change my mind :)

[vpFREE] Re: Palms bingo cards

I saw a big sign in front of the Palms slot club that says they have revised the January 25c/50c video poker bingo cards.

According to the picture on the sign, the new cards do not have any suited straight flushes and are still worth $500 if completed. You can keep playing on your current card or get the revised one, but the stamps from the old card do not transfer to the new card.

I did not see anything about changes to the other denominations.

About $0.2027 on a $1 single-line machine ($6 total wager) for a flush penalty, and only $0.0136 for a 9p.

Very very small. Is that close enough?

neither KT or K has any QQ potential, so any standard VP software will
give you the correct answer.

I reported full pay deuces at the Maho casino several years ago. I will be very disappointed if they are no longer there because we are going back there for our 25th wedding anniversary in Oct. It was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We stayed in a timeshare that was right next door to the casino with FPDW. I can't remember the name of the casino but it was in Maho Bay.
