Thanks for all who replied; Something I didn't even think about, but I'm 'assuming' that each choice was randomly equal chance of being selected.......(1 in 6)? - although that's the 'unknown' factor, I guess.

Lately, though, Jean and others, as an out-of-towner, I either have been lucky to get (10x) VP or higher, at least past 4 visits (small sample size).

I do recall choosing the lower ones as well (4x - 5x). or even 6x or 7x for a while.

Guess only the 'Boyd' gurus know.....

Martin's post inspired me to take a look at the Senior multipliers I have received this year. I'm a local and all were at Gold Coast.

Ten multipliers this year -

three were 4x
four were 5x
two were 6x
one was 15x

This is a very small sample size but I don't think my results are unusual for most local video poker players at the Gold Coast.

Thanx – I had looked on his site but missed this explanation. And just as I thought – ignore most dealer suggestions!!!! Giving up 7.65% instead of 2.01% is a costly mistake when the recommended strategy is so simple.

You will have to judge for yourself if you consider the following "easy". After you have swiped at a kiosk and received your 7X multiplier, let's say that you are playing a 25 cent video poker game. Record the number of total points that you have accumulated previously on your players card, which is displayed as soon as you insert it into your machine's card reader. Play 8 hands of video poker, which will show you have now played a session of 10 points. Pull your player card and wait until the card display goes from blank to the welcome to XXXX casino, as this will usually be enough time to allow the software to send this session information to the server to update your accumulated points total. Re-insert your player card back into the machine, and after it welcomes you to XXXX casino, your new total should now be 70 points higher than it was when you started your play. If not, head for the b-DISconnected players club and ask them what went wrong.

The dealers tell you to 'play blind' for a reason. You aren't tipping if you are folding. Also, if you pull a miracle win from your 8 6 2 hold, you are more likely to tip the dealer.


I don't know if wizardofodds.com addressed your exact question but there probably at least some information that will help you. From what I remember of 3 card poker, you fold a lot of hands. Playing every one of those hands has to cost you a bunch.
