Here's a good list of gambling-related quotes, bl:

There are some choice ones there that I wasn't familiar with, like...

"I figure you have the same chance of winning the lottery whether you play or not."

Fran Lebowitz

"Victory is a fleeting thing in the gambling business. Today's winners are tomorrow's blinking toads, dumb beasts with no hope."

Hunter S. Thompson

"At gambling, the deadly sin is to mistake bad play for bad luck."

Ian Fleming

"Gambling is not as destructive as war or as boring as pornography. It is not as immoral as business or as suicidal as watching television. And the percentages are better than religion."

Mario Puzo

Hi!

I have a question sort of way off target, but still gambling relevant.  Over the years I remember seeing some posts here at vpFREE that have interesting gambling related quotes included in the "address part" at the bottom of the post.  One that I remember is "it is not if you win or lose, it is whether it is a good bet".  I remember that there have been several similar "funny but relevant" quotes.  Can someone give me some help as to what some of the other quotes were?

Thanks.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Punished by Harrah's Tahoe??

Harry is correct the 50-Play machines have a low Theo compared to the $5 Multiline. I compared mailers with a friend who played those machines. BTW the same holds true for the 50-Play 9/6 JoB machines at MGM-Grand in Las Vegas.

Re: [vpFREE] Punished by Harrah's Tahoe??

Sounds to me like Brad had a "switch" flipped on him reducing his theo (or CR has reduced the theo of 9/6 Jacks regardless of how many points these machines earn).   It's been my experience that overall either you have to be a big actual loser OR be willing to play the quasi-short pay games like 9/5 Jacks or 7/5 Bonus Poker instead of full-pay.   You'll have to inquire about exact theo's and do some back of the envelope calculations to decide what is best for you.
