[vpFREE] Re: I found a mistake

"DRA-VP" is Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for Video Poker", and it does do the things you mentioned. For a session or trip of any specified length, it gets the results by simulation. For infinite play (with an advantage), it get the result using the jazbo/sorokin equation: (http://blackjackforumonline.com/content/VPRoR.htm)

DRA-VP is available at ShopLVA.com and GamblersBookClub.com. However, I'm very close to releasing a major upgrade, so I suggest holding off buying it until the upgrade is available. (probably 2-3 weeks).

Dunbar says all calcs were done with DRA-VP.What is DRA-VP? I'm looking for some instrument that can show me what my expected distribution of results & their frequency is for any given paytable and assuming perfect strategy play. Are these probability distributions calculated or simulation derived? Does VPW have a simulation feature whereby this info can be acquired?

[vpFREE] Re: Dream Card

thanks for all the replies folks... i will be looking at borgata next month as that is my preferred place in AC. as i've said, i probably have missed it as the "with Dream Card" logo doesn't really grab my eye a lot. a friend also told me he saw it once on a machine that has multiple games on it, so its not actually mentioned on the outside of all the machines that have it.

also, i need to say that i mentioned i was looking on VpFree2 for the locations... that was a mistake. i know that VPFree2 only shows the "good" payout table games... i was actually searching on videopoker.com (http://www.videopoker.com/gamesNearYou/?game=Dream%2BCard%2B3%252F5%252F10&state=&Submit=Refresh)

i don't think the game NEEDS to be expensive.... sure, 3 hands playing at the 25-cent level will be $7.50 a spin, but if they offered it at nickels at 5-play, that would be more reasonable, and only $2.00 different coin-in wise than a 10-play STP at nickels.

anyway, i was taking videopoker.com as fact, but now i will certainly scour borgata for Dream Card and report any findings back here. sadly, even a $1 single line machine wouldn't be something i'd play often since it's essentially $10 a hand.

RE: [vpFREE] Dream Card

I apologize. I was thinking of Quick Quads.

(Another game fun to play but hard to find a decent pay table.)

I went to Vegas for the first time last month and played it at the Mirage (they have ONE machine with it, had to ask the attendant at the High Roller area to look in their book to find it) for the first time outside of VideoPoker.com. It was a 50 cent machine, so three hand was $7.50 per game, which is usually well over what I'd play, but I was up a bit and figured "first time in Vegas, favorite game, gotta play it." Down about $60 I hit four 5-K on DDB with the DreamCard helping me, so I stopped there and felt good about it, but wished it wasn't so expensive so I could play more.

Two machines in ALL of Atlantic City??? The pay tables/return for the casinos are not terrible, it's not like this is a 100%+ game... in fact, you could put an 8/5 JoB DC machine and the return would be better than a regular 8/5 JoB for the casino. I admit I might be missing it, and maybe it's everywhere and I just don't know it (the sign on the machines doesn't stand out too much).
