[vpFREE] Re: Harry's Comment About Reno./ was Re: Coach V Harrah's AC Trip Repo

I've realized for a good while that I will eventually get cut off by the Atlantis, but I can't bring myself to play negative ev games just to have more losses. Hell I might hit a royal drought anyway and lose even more. That might not save me anyway; it didn't for a local pro. So I have split my time with 2 other casinos. I may try Harrah's instead for a while, but I don't think that even my absence for a few months (3 trips) will save me at the Atlantis.

[vpFREE] Gambling with an Edge --- September 6

Our guest this
Thursday night is professor I Nelson Rose, gaming law expert who is making his
third visit to the show. This week we'll be talking specifically about his new
book, Gaming Law in a Nutshell. The "In a Nutshell" series is similar
to the "For Dummies" or "For Idiots" series, except that the books are geared
towards lawyers rather than to the general public. Still, they are written for
general practitioner lawyers whose specialty is in another field. This makes
the book understandable to players.

Since I get legal gambling
questions all of the time, I definitely want this book as a reference guide. If
you ever wonder about how gambling is different in different jurisdictions or
how the laws concerning taxes on video poker are the same or different than
those concerning sports betting or live poker, this book might be for you as
well.

GWAE may be heard live Thursday
evenings from 7-8 in Las Vegas on 1230 AM or from www.klav1230am.comfrom
anywhere. The shows are archived the next day on bobdancer.com. You may
subscribe for free from iTunes to get the podcasts delivered automatically to
your device.

It comes in handy when I want to go to Reno during a busy weekend, or last-minute, or need a room for friends, and Atlantis or other options have nothing to offer. Sometimes I'll get a free tourney or meal deal from Harrahs, better than nothing.

The most common meters I've seen in California are $4 major / $1.33
minor. I have seen some $0.85 minors.

Two things to watch for:

1) Meters on the same type of machine may vary within the same casino.
Most of the $100-200/$10-20 QuickStrikes have $4 major / $2 minor,
but one bank of 4 was $10 major / $5 minor (2.5X worse).
I saw some in Vegas that were at least $11+ minor. Watched over $10
of play without $0.01 move on the minor.

2) Occasionally amazing meters might exist by accident.
For many months, one bank of $100-200/$10-20 QuickStrikes had $0.50
major / $2 minor.
The major moved so fast that $150s were playable (Starts at $100,
must hit by $200).

Q: I read your QoD every day. What I would like to know is,
I have a lot of match books and boxes from all the old

Are they worth anything? I also have some from new casinos.
Should I keep or get rid of them?
