Some casinos have new member bonuses based on your play in the first
day or two after signing up. The ones I know about are Silverton
(video poker is excluded), Palms and Arizona Charlie's Decatur. They
all have a list of prizes (mainly free play and food) that you earn at
each level.

Be careful if you want to help your granddaughter earn her new member
bonuses. The casinos want only the new member to do the play since
they've been burnt by established players who bring in anyone they can
find to sign up just to get the bonuses.

No, I haven't done these myself in the last year, but I thought some
here would be interested.

The one at the Plaza looks good ($500 loss rebate). Any wrinkles in
it I should be aware of? I know you do it one day and have to go back
the next two days to get the full rebate.

The Downtown Grand has not sent me anything in a long time. I played there a couple of times, and I came to the conclusion that they don't know how to run a casino. I can't be bothered going into a lot of detail but they did a lot of small things wrong, and didn't really seem to care. Calling them incompetent would be a compliment.

If you have a rudimentary knowledge of basic math, you will be able to answer this one for yourself after you read my post regarding this subject from about a year ago. I will forewarn you though, I tend to sometimes get wordy on the few occasions that I post to this forum, but much more so when I am pissed off at a casino. The one covered in the post was the most deserving of my ire at that time, and due to doing even dumber stuff in the last year, they are still firmly in place at the top of that list. If the cab driver takes Tropicana to the freeway he is being honest. Once on the freeway, if he passes Charleston without exiting then he is being dishonest. The freeway takes you all the way north of downtown and you enter downtown from the north.

Exiting at Charleston and jogging onto Grand Central Parkway is the shortest route and you enter downtown from the west side.

I have been to Senior Day at the Fremont about 40 times in the past year and have gotten the 50X once. But I don't know for show if it's random or not.

It should be about $32 plus tip going down Swenson, but wait times could increase it depending upon traffic. I've been amazed at how short and quick the taxi lines have been on my last few trips. I've barely had to stop before getting to a cab.
