RE: RE: [vpFREE] More October Bonus Points Updates

Why doesn't someone send Suncoast's actions to the RJ to let everyone know about their stupid practice?

[vpFREE] RE: Las Vegas NPR station does piece on American Coin Scandal

I think this article is probably factual but poorly written.  The first sentence is way too long.  Also, I believe the writer should have used the word "perpetrated" rather than "perpetuated".

I expected better quality from KNPR.  Unfortunately, the general quality of news media writing from Las Vegas is rather poor.

At least the article did have some relevance to VP whereas my comment does not  :-)

RE: RE: [vpFREE] More October Bonus Points Updates

Thanks, Bob. While I have not received anything from Suncoast I am still getting mailers from other Vegas and non Vegas Boyd properties so it doesn't look like the system wide ban has happened. So at your level of play do you have to skip multiplier days to avoid getting 86'd? This policy seems crazy. Why don't they just advertise "Lo rollers only wanted"?

RE: RE: [vpFREE] More October Bonus Points Updates

Kudos to Gold Coast. I believe Dotty's has NSU up to $5 and 20 coins or something like that and I've never heard of anyone getting 86'd at Dotty's, in fact they may not even have security, if there's real trouble they just call 911 like most other businesses. They have multipliers and one of the better mailers also, just none of the nonsense "resort" overhead of the big casinos. Like most casinos though you do have to lay low ("the cooling off period") for a while after hitting a taxable.

These days playing any machine over a dollar denomination on a multiplier day is likely to get you 86'd.

As a rule of thumb, this statement is pretty good --- especially if you believe it's correct to error on the side of caution. There are numerous exceptions, however.

The Gold Coast, for example. Even though it is a sister property to Suncoast, $2 single line play at either NSU or Double Bonus Deuces Wild (99.8%) is tolerated. They do limit base points to $10,000 coin-in per multiplier day --- but you can still play and earn mailers.

When, however, Suncoast puts a system-wide "no-mail" on your account, they honor that at the Gold Coast as well even if your play there was otherwise tolerated.

RE: RE: [vpFREE] Got a question about Host

I would say yes contact them.

rapport building can go quite a ways towards making any break even decisions fall in your favor. I can guarantee you a hand written thank you note near the end of your stay will be very well received.

From my perspective, no need to contact the host unless there is a reason.  They know when you are in the hotel and which machine you are playing so can easily find you in the casino -- some will stop by to say "hello" and see if you need anything.

I booked a room offer with a host thru an email.  Is it common practice to contact that host in person when I then stay at that hotel?  I mean do I look him or her up, or will they look me up while I am there?
