[vpFREE] Bob Dancer Winpoker using Windows 7

I finally got a laptop with Windows 7 so I transferred my Winpoker with the Windows 7 download. It appears that you can only use Winpoker in a very small square and cannot expand the image. You can minimize the image but not maximize it. It is usable but my vision is not the greatest and I would expand the game to take advantage of most of the display. Right now I would say the game only covers about 10% of the display. What's strange is where you select what to play such as 50-100 play or single game does cover most of the display. Is there a way to expand the game. I have never used Windows 7 before just XP and the horrible Vista OS.

[vpFREE] ADVANTAGE SLOTS

JEWEL IN THE CROWN - In the link, click on the Jewel In The Crown machine to enlarge it.

http://www.californiaslots.com/models.php?model=Barcrest

JITC was a rare machine. I used to play a dollar denom at the Four Queens when I caught play. But the MGM had this game in both $5 and $10 denom. It's a typical advantage slot, the main game being the line pays, and the secondary game being catching the jewels to get bonuses.
You can see the bonus amounts on the LCD screen at the top of the machine.

The jewels were on the reels, you can see a green jewel in the picture of the machine, on the third reel. You can also see that one green jewel and one blue jewel is lit. When a jewel landed on the line it would light one up on the LCD screen.

The standard play was to spin it off if you found the machine with 2 blue (25 coin bonus), 2 green (100 coin bonus), or 2 of the red jewels (1000 coin bonus) lit. Once you collected the bonus you made one more spin. Most of the time the LCD screen would come back blank, or maybe light up one jewel. But every once in a while it would come back with 2 blue, or 2 green, or 2 red lit.

The top line (1000 coin bonus) was hittable. Most of the time it ruined on you, but if you could float the swings that top line hit would come in. I hit it several times.

[vpFREE] ADVANTAGE SLOTS

I don't know who coined the term "advantage slots." It may have been Stanford Wong, or someone in his group. I had heard that Stanford started putting up information on his BJ21 site about "advantage slots," so that may be where the term came from.

A good friend of mine, and advantage slot player, Stu C., from Rapid City, South Dakota once told me "if you were to write a book about this stuff no one would believe it." Stu and I met at the Ho Chunk Casino at Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin in the summer of 2002. We ran into each other a week or so later at Black River Falls. I think the casino there is called Majestic Pines. Stu had a car and we made a pact to travel around Lake Michigan playing the advantage slots and splitting the expenses. We bought tents and stayed in the campgrounds to keep the expenses low. I had a lot of fun, we made a little money, and I got to see some places I had never been to before.

I've been in spots where the only money to be made was from advantagte slots. And in spots where the only money to be made was from video poker. And in spots where it was a combination of both. Elko is an example of where the bulk of the money was made playing Flush Attack video poker. But I had a few advantage slot plays, like Blue Screen Bingo's, quarter Super Sevens in the bartops, and a bank of IGT machines that had Red Hot Sevens and Treasure Chest.

My action at the Red Lion and Gold Country in Elko got me .333 comp, but no cashback. So I considered the extra $100 or so per week I made off the advantage slots as my cashback. It was nothing to check the machines for possible plays as I was on my way to sweep out the Flush Attacks.

I think Stu is right about what the general public would believe about slots. But vpFREE'ers, even the recreationals, are a different breed. They grasp the concept of strategic gambling. Though most of the games are extinct now, I think it is important to understand the concepts. One never knows what the future may bring.

I'm gonna leave a record in this thread, as time permits, of what I know about advantage slots. Anyone else, if they want to, can do the same. The first machine, Jewel In The Crown, will come in the next post.

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 13 MAY 2012

LVA Question of the Day - 13 MAY 2012

Q: My sister and I have been making yearly trips to Las
Vegas for seven years now and one of the things we enjoy
there is the free show of Big Elvis at Bill's. You recently
mentioned that he is moving to Harrah's May 3rd. Will this
mean that he is no longer going to be a free show and will
everyone with his show make the move as well?
