Re: [vpFREE] RE: Kiosk Games

Yep, some people believe the selection process is really important or a matter of bad luck that they don't win.  Come on...you telling me that computers can't be programmed to where one selection is made to then show the other 'would-be' selections to have won?  Fact that the total matrix is revealed after the player has made their picks, prove nothing.  Only a fool would believe these are fair.  In Reno they now have a game at GSR where you play tic-tac-toe against a live chicken by making your pick on a computer.  Only thing is you can't see what the chicken is actually picking.  How many times has the chicken lost?  None, to my understanding...best you can do is tie.  You don't have a chance against a computer and if/and when someone beats that chicken and wins $10K, it will be because GSR wanted that person to win.

Now, if it is spin on a slot or a hand pick selection from a hopper, those are much more difficult to cheat...not saying that they can't cheat on those, just a little more creative thought process would need to prevail in order to do so.

Re: [vpFREE] One Eyed Jacks

Wolf Video Poker has OEJ.  It's my favorite of the many video poker strategy/practice programs I've used, and it supports Windows 7, and runs under WINE on Mac OS X.  (For most purposes the free version, Frugal Video Poker, is adequate; but I'm pretty sure Frugal doesn't have OEJ.)

OEJ is an interesting game.  I wish more casinos had it.

Is there a software program out there to practice my OEJ strategy? I'm from MN and exclusively play at Grand Casino where they have quite a few of these machines and from what I see are all 100%+ machines

Re: [vpFREE] Atlantic Club Casino Seeks Bankruptcy Protection

oh, the old Golden Nugget when Steve Wynn owned it from 80 to 87. It was the class of Atlantic City. I once got a $500 tip from a high roller after making him 6 straight hard ways. There is a chance that Wynn will buy his old property back for pennies on the dollar. Lets hope so , he's the only one who could make a winner out of it...Tom

Re: [vpFREE] One Eyed Jacks

I did not know that software was still around. I used to use that as the OEJ 99.98% version + a 1/4% feed rate progressive was the best ER $1 game in the Chicago Area for awhile.
It worked on XP. It may work on the Professional or Ultimate versions of Windows 7.

VIPOKER handles OEJ.  You can change the pay tables.  But you will have to set it up for OEJ.  Takes a little doing though.

It was written for WIN 95 but seems to still work on newer win platforms.  As I remember <Space Bar> to deal/redeal, numbers <1-5> for card selection.
Keep in mind that this is very old software.  You can set it up to give you warnings on mistakes.

You can get it at:
http://www.filewatcher.com/b/ftp/132.246.2.21/pub/systems/ibmpc/simtelnet/win95/gambling-0.html

Look down the list for ViPoker.zip.  It is a .zip file so you will need a ZIP program (free trial) to open it.

RE: Re: [vpFREE] XVP -- Fox car rental in Las Vegas -- Long

Why did you fill out an accident report? If you needed a ride to the airport, pay a few bucks for a cab or bribe a different rental car bus driver. No good can come out of signing that doc. If they cant show you the vehicle, screw them. As for court, you are the defendant, with all the rights. You could schedule and cancel at least a couple times. Also filing a frivilous lawsuit claim against them should make them reconsider. Maybe even fing a false claim if the photo was taken months after the fact. I know it is tough in the heat of battle but i think you gave up too easily. Surprised they didn't start with the bs loss of use argument.

The Quad is between Flamingo and Harrahs on the Strip. There does not appear to be any restrictions on weekends.

[vpFREE] RE: XVP -- Fox car rental in Las Vegas -- Long

I see people knock Fox on many forums.

Maybe I've just been lucky but I've rented from them multiple times in LV, SF and Reno and have never had a problem.  They are sometimes barely half price compared to the bigger rentals.

---In vpfree@yahoogroups.com, <bove40@...> wrote:

Strongly recommend against renting from Fox. Rented a number of times from them because of price. I pick up in Vegas, visit my brother in California and return to LAX. Last trip I returned to Lax & walked the car with service attendant who said everything was fine and it was. We had only an hour to get on flight so when I went to return counter I told agent I was in hurry. She said I had to fill out accident report. I told her car was fine, but she said attendant marked damage. I asked to see car and was told I couldn't as they had put it away. As flight time was now less than an hour I filled out accident report and noted that there was no damage to car and rushed to make our flight. Four months later I received a call from my insurance company saying they had received a claim from Fox for $2000 in damages. My agent said picture showed major damage so I asked to see picture. When he sent it to me it showed major damage to the front end of the two door, blue Dodge Challenger. I said that was nice, but I had rented a four door black Challenger. He returned claim to Fox denying payment. Six month goes by and surprise he gets another claim from Fox ($1200 this time) with picture of black four door Challenger. They said they were going to pay the claim since it wasn't a chargeable claim and wouldn't affect my rate. I told him it was a total rip off as I had walked the car and there was definitely no damage. He said they could contest it, but I would have to appear in court in California to give my story and he felt I should just let it go.
Fox got the money from my insurance company, but they will never get anymore from me or anyone else I can steer away from them.

[vpFREE] Re: Question: Free nights (coupons) The Quad

The Quad is the old Imperial Palace in the center of the Strip.  I checked out several rooms while I was in Vegas in September, and I was turned off by it, so we left.  They told us the rooms were renovated, but then they changed their stories.
