Re: [vpFREE] Free Play Coupons at Caesars/Harrahs

Harrah's SoCal now puts bounce back free play on your card. Recently they updated their system so your card has to be inserted when playing the free play or the free play goes back to the computer server if you pull your card.

Rincon had this system the last time I was local there. One of the many ways casinos try to shut down scammers. At the time the offers I got from them totaled $800 a month but you had to go on over 15 different days to collect (this coupon only from the 7th to 10th, that coupon only on the 8th, this other coupon any time from 9th to 17th, etc).

I collected the coupons without using them and it didn't seem to affect my offers. But I definitely wouldn't use a food coupon. That zero trip makes for a very expensive free meal in the long run.

Has anyone saved up the coupons over a few months, and then used them all at once, to maintain a high daily average. For instance if you're getting $100 a week, plus a generous weekly food comp coupon. What if you use the food comp for a nice dinner, get the slot play coupon from the cage, and then leave! Repeat 4 or 5 times and then use the coupons to play $500 on the house.

If you use your food comp without play you get a zero trip. depending on the casino if you go to the cage to get your coupon and do not play (and don't use any comps) it may or may count as a zero trip.

[vpFREE] Free Play Coupons at Caesars/Harrahs

My local casino gives weekly free play, that you redeem at the cage for free play coupons that you then put into the machine. The coupons have a 6 month expiration. Has anyone saved up the coupons over a few months, and then used them all at once, to maintain a high daily average. For instance if you're getting $100 a week, plus a generous weekly food comp coupon. What if you use the food comp for a nice dinner, get the slot play coupon from the cage, and then leave! Will this work does anyone know if free play amount tracked to specific cards in the machine in real time?

[vpFREE] Dec Double Dip

Just back from LV, doing the MLife shopping event and GGWU. It was one of those very rare trips when everything goes just right. Had great suites at both Harrah's and MIrage...stayed at Mirage, since our shows and dinner reservations were there. Started winning the first night, and won every day! I cannot remember when that has happened in many years. (pics of the bigger jackpots just posted) Every meal was fantastic, and the service was outstanding at both properties.

Oddly, both of the entertainers we saw had new wives since we last saw them, both incorporated into their shows. Terry Fator had his second wife in the show last July...pretty quick change out, ha ha. Ron White had his wife singing in his show. (We heartily recommend showing up late or bringing your own earplugs).

But the real treat was a chance encounter at the Mirage "Siegfried & Roy Secret Gardens". Just as we were leaving, we spotted Siegfried unlocking a back gate so I took quick and discreet photo, so as not to bother him. Instead, he strode over and put his hand out, saying "Hi, I am Siegfried." The ensuing 20 minutes with him was delightful....I have never met a more charming and gracious person. We didn't want to monopolize him, but he kept driving the conversation, as if he really wanted company! He truly exudes a warmth, tranquility and gentleness that explains his success with wild animals.

Others were gathered around looking, but seemed hesitant to approach. (Perhaps they thought we were friends, considering the way he greeted us! hugging me and insisting on photos.) I think he truly misses having an audience, so I hope that others engaged him after we left.

Overall best run I've had on VP in ages, and one of the best personal encounters we've ever had with a celebrity. Plus lots of loot on the way from those shopping events ;-)

I hope everyone's next trip is as good as this one!

Nita

Penny slots only appeared in large numbers with TITO which was circa 1999 or something like that. It would be difficult to do hand fills on a penny machine in a cost effective manner. Even the few nickel machines pre-TITO were probably loss leaders.

The minimum allowed slot return in Nevada is 75%. If you bet one penny per minute, that's 60 cents per hour, your average cost of playing is 15 cents per hour. By playing an hour, remember many casinos are now ranking players by time on a machine, you're probably entitled to drinks, sometimes even premium, probably can play the kiosk games, probably can play the free slot tournaments, probably can complain until they give you at least one drawing ticket, probably can get a discounted or even free room, probably qualify for the "free gifts", and so on. Chances are even good you'll get a mailer with some free play and some free food. Even $5 freeplay looks pretty good.

[vpFREE] XVP -- Auto Slash for car rentals

Here is why I really like Auto Slash. I received this email today:

Thanks for booking with AutoSlash. We review each reservation daily for additional savings. We found a better rate on your upcoming Hertz rental in Las Vegas on 12/11/2015 (AutoSlash Trip ID: xxxxxxxxxxxx).
You were originally booked at $64.23 USD, and the price has now dropped to $56.20 USD. We've automatically re-booked your rental at the lower rate. You've saved $8.03 USD without even lifting a finger!
This is for a 4 day rental in Las Vegas. Pretty good deal.
