Re: [vpFREE] Host at MGM

Here is an excerpt from an upcoming blog I'm working on:

New Noir Tier Information

From their Web site, here is their tier levels:

Tier Level is determined by your total number of accumulated Tier Credits as follows:

a.. Sapphire – Up to 24,999 Tier Credits
b.. Pearl – 25,000 Tier Credits
c.. Gold – 75,000 Tier Credits
d.. Platinum – 200,000 Tier Credits
e.. NOIR – By invitation only
You will notice that there is no longer any number beside Noir. It used to be one million, but recently that number was taken down. If you ask a hundred employees what the new requirement is you will get a hundred answers. Maybe it depends on your actual or theoretical loss? If so, that means if you play "good" video poker games, you may never play enough to be "invited." There doesn't seem to be exact property-wide requirements, and it is almost impossible to find out specific property guidelines. The slot club personnel almost never have an answer. Even the hosts don't seem to know or aren't allowed to tell you. Google "MGM Noir tier" and you will find a lot of discussion on this subject.

ACVPP is "Atlantic City Video Poker Players"

Need moderator o.k. to access.
Believe LF refering to the short-pay pics relative to Vegas.

But your posts for on-going trip may show Vegas not far behind.
Making me laugh. "WHAT HAPPENED"
More please :-)

I think my point, if there was a point, is that one of the games at The Long Bar is 8-6 BPDlx, and that ain't so bad compared to the other games. But they need a faster meter rate. I mean, why not? Maybe I'll run into Derek Stevens and file a suggestion.

I was never that smart. I actually preferred what we called
"clickovers." These were machines that registered more coins than
were inserted. In 1985, I found one of these at the Sparks Nugget.
Every so often, it would register 2 coins for 1 that was inserted. I
estimate I saved $5000 on a $1 progressive that I ended up hitting for
$14,000. Something like what happened to the car at the end of "The
Blues Brothers," it finally went crazy. The screen did a "scrambled
eggs" and tried to spill all the coins in the hopper into the tray.
They caught that and I gallantly offered to give back what had spilled
into the tray, which I think they declined because I was such a good
customer.

[vpFREE] My Casino (used to be Mystic Lodge) on Boulder Hwy - Trip Report

Walk into the old Mystic Lodge way south on Boulder Hwy last night to check out their video poker.

First thing I notice is their sign. At first I think some light bulbs are burnt out. But nope, they did it on purpose, must be new owners. It was Mytic Lodge Casino, and they just took down the "stic" and left the "My". lol Why get a new sign? Makes sense, if you're cutting costs. (or just cheap)

First thing I see on the left is a bank of progressives. Wonderful. I check the paytables. 6-5 Bonus, 8-5 Double Double, 9-6-4 Double, 7-5 JoB, beautiful!

To make a long story short, it's the same paytables everywhere. I go to the bar, same stuff, but the jackpot is $1199 on everything. I ask the bartender, an obvious Harvard graduate, "All the jackpots are static, they're all the same?" And she says, "What's all the same?" Now I get a little pissed. I say, "What do you mean 'what's the same?' The jackpots, didn't I just say 'the jackpots'? They're ALL THE SAME? What did you think I meant by "They're static, all the same?" Was it a difficult question?

I guess I had been up a long time and a little impatient. I'm usually not an a-hole like that. Well, maybe 45% of the time I am.

So she says, "Oh, this is the $1199 side, you want the regular jackpots on the other side". Ok, I go look, and it's about $1300 for the royal, and SAME exact crappy paytables. Good bye, have a nice day. Looking forward to your bankruptcy notice.

AND WHERE ARE THE CUSTOMERS?!!! I can't believe there's only two or three people playing in this joint. I mean, where is everybody?

HELLO! IT'S A COMPETITIVE GAMING MARKET! DUH!

IDIOTS!

The End

Found out that they were closed for about two hours last night.
The electricity was off while they were switching to a new
electrical source. AOK this afternoon.

[vpFREE] All you can eat pasta at Jerry's Nugget

So I'm driving somewhere, maybe Boulder Hwy, and I see a billboard for Jerry's Nugget, it says something like All You Can Eat Pasta, only $7.95.

HA! I'm laughing my ass off.

THAT ought to get the people to rush to Jerry's Nugget. I mean, in a very competitive gaming market, why not have a billboard that says, "Good blackjack rules" or "Good video poker over 99%" or "Double Points" or something like that. But NO! Their billboard says PASTA, $7.95. Big deal! I can go to the store and buy my own spaghetti.

HEY ANGELO! Get a clue! lol Good luck with your bankruptcy.

Spaghetti, sheesh, whatta maroon.

Bob,
You must have a short memory.:) Read a lot of the posts on this and acvpp site ( which I know you do) and look at the pay tables on the jackpot pix.

That'll answer your question.

[vpFREE] The Long Bar at The D

I think we all have heard that the video poker at the new Long Bar at The D, it The Sucks.

Except for one game on it, not too bad, is 8-6 Bonus Poker Deluxe. They all are progressives, but there is only one problem. The meter rate is about .25%, so it will NEVER really be playable.

I don't get it. This is a nice bar. Why not put some better vp on it or at least increase the progressive meter rate. In fact, all over town I'm finding that .25% seems to be a "favorite" setting on already crappy paytables. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? The jackpot will never get high, so why have a progressive in the FIRST PLACE! DUH!

Anyway, besides that one gripe, I do like what they've done to The D. It looks pretty nice.

[vpFREE] Over-Payers

I've read stories in the past (from Mickey) about "over-payers", old vp machines that paid out more coin than they were supposed to. Of course, Mickey never took advantage of those and stayed away from hustlers who did. Mickey is smart!

Anyway, I'm in Vegas now and yesterday I was playing an old coin dropper and hit quad Aces and got a handpay on $239. Then I cashed out the remaining 45 quarters and a message came across the screen and I think the machine locked up, it said something like "This machine has overpayed 46 quarters instead of 45". I have a photo of it but can't upload it yet off my cell phone until I get home, I'm not smart enough to figure out how to do it.

Anyway, I got a chuckle out of that. This may be my first "over-payer". But apparently they have put a fix in the system that will stop hustlers.

I looked around and didn't see any security guards, so I took my extra quarter and briskly walked to my car, covered my license plates and raced out of the parking lot. I made a clean getaway.

[vpFREE] Re: Plaza & Las Vegas Club Players Club - July 1 Changes

I think the terminology here is very questionable. The players club is called the royal players club. My bet is that this is a free play multiplier. Meaning you get more than the usual free play with an ace card. It would say 100% bonus on royal flushes, not a 100% royal flush bonus if the understanding of others was correct.
