[vpFREE] Re: Ivey on 60 minutes

Atlantic City is probably the most player friendly jurisdiction in the US, except maybe (surprise, surprise) Mississippi.

[vpFREE] Re: LV Locals Promotion

Thank you Mr McEwen for investigating this issue.  I had no idea whom to contact in marketing to find out what the problem was.  I'm very glad to hear the RC multiplier program is continuing.  It appears there is a big disconnect between those in the offices and those at the booth.  This manager is definitely misinformed if he thinks the opt in function appears on the kiosks at Caesars Palace.  This month the promotion is available March 1, 15 & 29.  It's too late for me to play today but I'll try it again in 2 weeks.  Out of curiosity did any other LV locals try to use the offer today?  As a warning, if the boothlings correctly activate the offer the multiplied points will show immediately while playing.  If they don't, the multiplied points will never show up and no one will help you for 14 days because that's the time they have to adjust the points per the fine print.  If you don't mind, I'd like to take a copy of this note along with me next visit to show the booth supervisors if they continue to fight activating multipliers.

Thanks again.

I've never been to Atlantic City casinos or Mississippi casinos but I have heard through the grapevine that credit hustlers, when caught, can only be barred from an Atlantic City casino for 24 hours....and in Mississippi abandoned credits on a machine belong to the public, not the casino.

The Stations marketing tag line as seen on TV and in print is not complete, as it omits the last two words.

[vpFREE] Re: Ivey on 60 minutes

Not having watched the video of 60 Minutes yet, but having read a lot about Ivey's activities in this situation, it appears to me that he ASKED for a lot of help to accomplish what he did, and he took advantage of marked cards (that he did not mark, nor any accomplice; they came that way from the manufacturer).

The question, in my mind, is did he "cheat" in doing so, or did he take advantage of the CASINO's failure (1) to examine the cards adequately before putting them in play, and (2) refusing to continue using a deck when the casino's own procedures required those decks to be replaced at intervals and (3) refusing to turn cards when requested to do so.

I see this as a case of a casino using weak or improper procedures and violating its own protective policies, in order to keep a high roller happy and playing with an expectation that said gambler would lose, and then not taking responsibility for that, when the violations resulted in the player winning.

Of course, in Vegas, the courts are heavily biased against players, and that may be the case in other places as well.  And of course, how the courts rule on a matter resolves the particular dispute, but does not really establish "right" or "wrong."

2a. Re: Ivey on 60 minutes

How I would rule if I were the judge might depend on how surreptitious he
was about asking the dealer to turn the cards around.  If that was why he
wanted the dealer to speak Mandarin, he lied to the interviewer and the
casinos, but I find it hard to believe that that could be done without
being detected.
