The cost per person for NCF and taxes is about $300 for Caribbean from NOla, and from Seattle for Alaska is about $450 per person. Single people only pay once. On top of that add $12 per day per person for gratuities billed at the end of the trip to your room. Also any liquor, shore excursions, gambling, etc are extra. Drinks in the casino are free. I figure the discount with the certificate comes to about a half price cruise.

My wife and I took two friends on the Jewel out of NOL the prior week (Oct 20-27) on a fully paid cruise sponsored by the Paris Casino in LV. It was hosted by Caesars NCL full time cruise consultant/host Josh Cazer, David Hoenemeyer the President of Bally's/Paris/Planet Hollywood Jim Korona VP Casino Marketing and Exec host at Paris Rudy Paredes. The whole thing was done first class. They allowed and encouraged everyone who had two cruises coming to bring another couple or friends with them also free (no hiding it). They picked up everything but the tips (yes including taxes and port fees), hosted a slot tourney for our group, specialty Steak house dinners with the execs, rooms and trans in NOL. We've gone on a lot of casino cruises with MGM, Palms, Cosmo as well as Caesars and this was as good as the Players Travel cruises through the other places.
We really enjoyed Harrah's NOL a few days before the cruise as it is one of the few CET casino's with 9/6 JOB and 8/5 Bonus and the slots we still like. The Jewel was very nice, especially if you are someone who doesn't like the new 4,000 passenger class of RCL & NCL ships. (We don't mind, this Saturday we are going on the Epic (for our 10th time) with the Cosmopolitan casino group.
One bitter sweet thing was they can now open the casino on the Jewel immediately upon leaving NOL and keep it open all night of the return even though you are not in international waters for 8 hours. They now have a special exemption. The bad side of that is the payouts on the ship are the same as all ships, which is terrible, so you will loose big on the ship if you gamble a lot.
I sure do hope they don't downgrade the remaining good VP and slots in NOL.

They pulled that crap on my son and because it wasn't worth the time to argue about it, he just gave up and went on...There is one thing you need to understand...there is another way to show a loss at the Trop in Laughlin, as well as, River Palms. I don't need to get into specifics, but just think a bit of how it can be done, then try it! We did it on the initial loss, but not when he played the FP through. No reason to NOT show a loss at either place if you know what I mean.
This strikes me as a good deal if you know the parameters up front. On the first day, should you lose $100 or more, pick up $50 free play and play it through. After you play it through, make sure that your total loss for the day still exceeds $100. If not, keep playing either until it does or you win big.
Later you'll get another $50.
Not bad. The big problem is that they didn't explain it clearly to start with. Perhaps they thought they did, but the people in that casino were inventing the wheel all by themselves rather than using the design used by others. Johnny made some reasonable assumptions and that wasn't the way it worked. Now he has explained the situation to the rest of us, we can take advantage of it if we like.
with respect to taking it to Gaming, we're talking about $50 bucks here, Johnny, and you live out of state. Prudence tells you to kiss it off. You're still on the casino's mailing list, probably, and they may have a decent promotion down the road that you want to exploit.
(Alternatively, SARCASM ALERT, hire attorney Bob Nersesian for $4000. I'm willing to bet that he'll collect your $50 for you. You'll still be $3950 worse off but you will have prevented those $&^^%$ people at the Trop Express from ripping you off! Will that make you feel better?)

Too bad it was only in nickels! However it was a Progressive with 3x points .5% slot club. The EV was 100.3% today, that is why I was playing it. Dealt AKQJ10 hearts.

A friend e-mailed me privately to ask if I'd seen CoachVee's "Harrah's Shocker Part Deux" post (which I had) & below is the reply I sent. I don't generally like to speculate on "hypotheticals" - but when it comes to CET's track record with Video Poker, I'm inclined to be pessimistic.
Reply to friend:
I did see CoachVees's post while having my morning coffee. I've since noticed a response from Larry - and have to say that he & I have similar thoughts & misgivings. First, if the guy did say, "Do you like that 9/6 crap?" then he needs a lesson in customer relations. He's either ignorant, condescending - or both; as well as insulting of some of his customer base who take the time to educate themselves to the idea of advantage play. Also, like Larry, I'm inclined to think that there will be more to come about this that will not be "positive" news. There are a lot of other "payouts" that could be adjusted downward (I'm thinking of those "9/6" machines I've seen that have a 2,500 Royal Flush payout); or a substantial increase of coin-in to earn points (I mean, the triple-plays in the high limit section of Bally's have been $20 coin-in for years already; and they've got some 9/6s at Harrah's & Ballys that only pay a 4000 unit Royal if you're betting 10 quarters - which to my way of thinking isn't "true" 9/6). Or they may make them ineligible for multiplier promos; sweepstakes; etc., etc. Don't you find it interesting/ironic that Coach's apparently positive A.C. v.p. message was followed later by a doom-invoking message regarding v.p. in New Orleans? And remember, this is all part of a nationwide, switchout of 7,000 IGT video poker machines by CET.

How optimistic can one be that "the player" is going to benefit from "the largest gaming re-investment Caesars has made in 10 years" when they're up to their hairlines in leveraged debt? God only knows! But in my gut I can't see CET making a major change in v.p. inventory that will be a true "benefit" to knowledgeable players.
