[vpFREE] Re: e-wallet

Sorry Linda, I don't even know what an e-wallet company is. I will tell you this however - I used to work in a bank and they can be totally trusted. These days you will be getting very low interest on a savings account about 0.2%. Watch out for starting teaser rates however, an example would be offering you 0.5% for new costumers and going to 0.15% after 1 month. Believe me though US banks are 100% trustable, a lot more than can be said for casinos.

[vpFREE] Re: Beware Caesars Casino Online - NJ

John,

What you report here is nothing short of scandalous to any patron who typically looks to NJ state to assure that a game under their auspices is "fair".

They appear to assert that the normal presumption (that machine-based card games in land casinos within the state can be expected to operate equivalently to the deal of a physical card deck) doesn't hold for online games regulated by NJ, and the operators of said games may skew odds as they see fit.

If nothing else, repeating this information in a letter to the editors of "Casino Player"  would likely perk up a lot of noteworthy ears.  (I suggest including a copy of the letter you received, in the event that CP might decide to investigate further.)

[vpFREE] Re: Rampart

The error may have been in whether it was for all machines or just slot and video reels.  It sounds like Rampart is saying someone in the food chain mistook what was covered and put out the more generous offer.  In that case, as mentioned, the business is protected.  It would have made good business sense to have honored the promotion as written even if it were in error but they are under no obligation to do so.

Yes, that would be an example of a reasonable error. However sending a mail promotion for 3x on all machines for seniors and then denying that promotion once the customer goes to the casino is mail fraud and also probably targeting the elderly population many of which no longer have the visual and mental skills of their youth. 3x on all machines is a typical promotion. Now if it said 300x, that would clearly be a misprint. 30x would be borderline, I have seen 30x, but it is rare and also likely to be a misprint. But 3x is very common, it's only slightly better than 2x and pales in comparison to the better 7x and 10x promotions.

From the Burbank airport, we get absolutely zip for deals to Vegas - it's Southwest's bread and butter.  For two people to fly on the weekend to Vegas, the lowest fare is over $400 for two people.  Grrrr.

[vpFREE] Beware Caesars Casino Online - NJ

Hi all-

I'm sure some members here may at least dabble in some of the online gaming options that are now available to those located in New Jersey.  This is a warning to all about Caesars Casino Online.  I happened to find what looked like a good paytable for a Bonus Deuces Wild game (99.45%) and started to play the game.  As I played, I noticed that I would sometimes discard a card and receive the same exact card back.  At first I didn't believe my eyes, but then I took before and after screen shots that demonstrated the issue.

When I reported the issue, after about a week, I noticed they pulled the game in question.  When I asked for an update, they indicated that the game has the discard rule set up in a "non-traditional" way, it is working as expected, and I should not expect any compensation for my losses since the game was approved by the NJ DGE.  I've never seen any video poker game dealt in such a manner.  I plan on reporting them to the NJ DGE, although I'm not sure how far that will get me.

John

Actually it isn't.  Businesses are protected against reasonable errors.  The most famous usually cited is an employee marks a ring for $200 and puts it in the display case but the real price is $2,000.  The customer can not demand it for $200.  The same is true for ads.  If an error  is made, whether by employees of the company or the company handling the ad, the business is not bound by it.  Many times you read where a company will hold to the error just to keep good will but there is nothing illegal about it.
