We always think about renting a car and driving to Vegas from Laughlin but have never found the time. We were there last week and the time flew! We stayed at Harrah's and only made it to the Golden Nugget this time but like to casino hop. We had a beautiful jacuzzi suite overlooking the river and enjoyed the room more this time. We had a gift basket and special cookies and candies in the bedroon each night. The Diamond Lounge is nice and the people working there are really nice to you. On the weekends they serve chicken and shrimp but on weekdays it is sandwiches(which are good), veggies, cheese and crackers and cookies. No breakfast anymore. We like the food at Harlow's at the Golden Nugget and the buffet at Harrah's is nice. Have a great time and make some money:)

CoachVee,
So you got to share a meal with Joan and Tom on your last Vegas adventure. I
have not done that in awhile myself. But that experience would have been in
Laughlin.
I am curious what motivates you to consider a trip to Vegas from Laughlin?
People either enjoy the drive for its high desert beauty or think the trip is a
waste of time. The roads are alot safer now. You go from 500 feet in
elevation at the river to 3500 in Searchlight, then back down to 2200 for downtown
Vegas.
My favorite Laughlin-Vegas-
starting in Searchlight at the Nugget Casino. The Nugget makes for fine
pitstop. This quaint casino looks like a Moose/Legion Hall.
You can continue north to the Railroad Pass casino or go west on the Joshua
Tree Highway that takes you through Nipton where you cross the railroad tracks.
You will run into I-15 going this way and see ten other vehicles. You will
be in California for about twenty miles before running into Primm, then Jean
and Southpoint casino.
But if you never have been in Laughlin a three day adventure will go quickly.
It is true that Harrahs thinks they have you being the south most casino,
but it really is only twelve minutes walking over to the River Palms, front door
to front door. From the River Palms the next casinos can be accessed easily
on the riverwalk. Every Laughlin casino has playable VP.
You do have the surface cabs that stage right by the Harrahs
valet/non-smoking casino for transportation. Also check with the slot club for the current
deal for the river taxi. The river taxi gives you a unique perspective of
Laughlin.
Come join the vpFREE Laughlin group where we can get more specific without
boring the rest of the gang.
