nightoftheiguana2000: I know you are asking Bob Dancer the royal drought question, but I wanted to interject and say I once went through an amazingly bad streak of over 500,000 hands without a royal. (12+ cycles) I figured the odds of this occurrence at approximately 65,000-1 against.


Yes, I've also experienced the opposite extreme of multiple royals within 30 minutes of each other as well.

Bob doesn't chase Royals unless he gets a bonus for a Royal. Chasing is a sucker play and Bob is an excellent player. BTW I once went 10 cycles between Royals. That hurt!

I guess the argument is that you have to work all these other side gigs to pay for your gambling habit. But I imagine that $100,000 royal on Dotty's NSU Dollar Deuces covered you for a couple of months at least.

On a side note, maybe I can ask you some questions: What's the longest you've gone without a royal? 5 cycles? More? And what's the most money you've burned chasing a royal?

Randi.D, your choice of the word screw is right on the money. Fits right in with my sodomizing your points post from awhile back. Anyone know when the new game of "Simon Sam's Says BEND OVER" will hit their casino floor? Apparently, it was not enough a few years back to charge $2 per point on this game, so they upped it to $4 per point. Since the upper manglement was still not happy, they slowed the machines down to thwart the top professional players from earning a theoretical $8 an hour. Then they decide that they really don't need to compete with Boulder Station down the street, who has 18 of these machines in quarter denomination on their gaming floor, so Sam's mensa candidate manglement team decided to take 8 of the ten machines at quarters completely off the floor, leaving them with a whopping total of 2 remaining in the casino. I imagine that in a high level boardroom meeting, they must have devoted a grueling 40 or 50 seconds to format the phrase that would be displayed on the new stickers. So, in order to add exact clarity----ooops!, strike that phrase, I meant to say in-exact confusion, regarding the sticker, here is the sticker verbatim: "This machine does not qualify for marketing promotions or programs." Does anyone know the gaming industry language equivalent for "What chu talkin' 'bout Willis"? Same sticker is even on the 10 coin nickel machines.

Since the Sam's scalpel is slicing and dicing, I tend to think that the other Boyd properties are joining in as I type. Did anyone actually believe that when the C.E.O. Keith Smith said in the first quarter conference call that the $610 million to buy the two Cannery's and the Aliante would be from cash on hand, that he was being truthful. I am christening the sticker as just another bit of B.B.B.B..--For those of you scoring at home, that is Bumbling Boyd Bozo Brilliance. Since Boyd is the favorite nail for my verbal post hammer, I will have more on them when I have the time.

This is a new change in the ever changing "screw the VP player at Sam's Town policy" . If you notice there is a second message pasted on these machines about these machines not being elligible for certain management programs. This translates to no more multipliers for Sapphire and Emerald players.

yep, the loot promo was very strong, btw, I got 1000 on the fifth level once, might be related to my win - lose record tho D got 300 and 500 once as well. I may have just gotten lucky I had to look twice when I got 1000, lol. I'm sure you got 100 $$ on the fifth level 95 % of the time ? Be cause of what I heard about you I pushed D to back off and play dollars, after that first 5 $$ royal, too late now. Thanks, good luck at pala, barona, or where ever you play now.

Yes I played $10 NSUD at Valley View. Toward the end I was only playing 3 to 4 days per month on the Unlock the Loot days. I was only in SoCal for about 5 days every other week so this was all the time I had. The promo maximum $40k per day was only 800 hands. Obviously getting 2 Royals in 2 months on this amount of play was a fluke. My lack of a Royal on these machines in the previous couple of years was more the norm. At the time, this amount of play was also enough to get the 9 X $200 mailer. I could only collect about 2/3 of them because I wasn't always in SoCal on the right dates. I thought if I stopped playing and just collected my MorePlay that would get me in more trouble. Been there, done that!
