For a one time shot promotion such as this, with moderate value, my inclination is to go with a "visceral" estimate of the math rather than fine tune things. But I imagine that were I to look for an optimal cash out value I'd start with the fact that the EV of any particular cash out strategy = probability of a successful cashout x the average expected cashout.
From there, I'd resort to "monte carlo" simulation, and use a vp tutor such as winpoker to run through computer runs (at a practical increment of something like 50 hands at a time) to arrive at fair estimates of those values (prob / avg cashout) for a range of reasonable cashout targets.
A little cumbersome of an exercise, but hardly an unreasonable one if the stakes are sufficiently sizable.

I've heard knowledgeable people recommend stopping when you've won twice the max rebate amount if you're playing a high variance game. Others playing more conservatively say to stop if you've won half the amount of the max rebate.
Not sure if there's a way to mathematically decide on a stop-win. I suppose running simulations would at least give you information to help make a decision.

I am trying to convince Mickey to write a book about his life
and all the anecdotes he has described.
He thinks gambling books are a niche market and wonders
how big the market would be. I am trying to convince him
that his book would be a human interest story and that
gambling is just incidental.
I told him I would query list members what they thought.
Vote whether you think it is about gambling or general
human interest (of interest to the public at large).

Hm. I bought Doyle Brunsen's autobiography during the recent KNPR charity
auction. I hadn't heard of it so I assumed it was a new book - well it's
years old and similarly to what is proposed, it has something for gamblers
and some human interest as well. Doyle is a character in the live poker
world so why didn't this book have enough sales that I would hear of it prior
to buying it at the auction?
Now I would personally buy any book that Mickey wrote but I am dubious
whether it would sell enough to make it worthwhile publishing.

There was actually a three-reel slot machine along these lines. It was called "Sevens or Nothing." You either hit the three red sevens and got paid 100 for 1, or you lost.

I got a little lucky and hit bonus quads with kicker early on, and decided to lock it up. Got out of the casino and took a nice walk in the nearby forest preserve. In playing the Riviera $500 loss rebate promo for new members, Bev & I opted for $1 BDlx, balancing goals of hopefully coming away a little to the good, plus targeting an extended session that yielded residual value on back end offers. (Again, max EV strategy would be more aggressive high denom play.)
In the event of a winning session, the loss rebate loses value as your meter climbs. I made a gut assessment that an appropriate cash out strategy was at a $600 win.
We were each fortunate to achieve this win target ... Bev cashing out in 15 minutes, hitting two quads in short order (and ending up with weak mailers), I ran play through for close to 90 minutes before my cashout, scoring a 5 night offer with $100/night in FP.

The multi-strikes with full pay bonus deluxe are gone from near the sports book. Are there any of these multi-strikes left in eldorado?
