It's a great article. Years ago I had to learn how to do everything Bob wrote about in the article. Bob is not writing to me, I'm already there. He's telling all those who want to reach professional level some of what it takes to get there.

While I don't disagree with the article, I don't see anything there that adds anything
new to the general knowledge base for video poker players.

What makes you say that this is a great column ?

I got FVP to work with Windows 10 after a couple standard menu "compatibility" adjustments. It flakes out once in a while, but otherwise runs reasonably well. I was able to print strategy sheets from it as well.

I don't think Windows 8.0 and 8.1 have been able to adjust to running the program.


The only issue I've had with Windows 10 is that I can't install my licensed version of MS Office Pro 2003 on it. I think it's part of MS strategy to eventually require all MS application programs to be cloud-based rental software where you have to pay an annual fee to use their software each year.

Like I said before, since Downtown deuces doesn't have any additional pay lines any Video Poker program that allows you to change the payoffs will work for this variation of deuces wild.

A program called Frugal Video Poker includes "Double Deuces 16/13" (100.92%) as one of the games you can choose when you select "show all machines". This is the same as "Downtown deuces" at the El Cortez. It can also print out the strategy for the game..

I assume that you know where to find that program. :) .
