I agree with Tiki. I'm a frequent diner at the Palms buffet and feel they've done a lot to improve food quality and selection from a few years ago.
Sometimes it takes a few visits to find what you like. Next time go there when you're hungry and try the Lebanese items. Yum!

Re: [vpFREE] Reel Rewards
I've used them on vp machines on the floor, in the high-limit room, and at the bars. I don't understand why someone who works there would tell a caller that they don't work on most vp machines. I could get that same answer from Lady Gaga.

Subject: [vpFREE] Reel Rewards
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Reel Rewards at The Rio are good for video poker or do they only work on slot machines? I have an offer for $500 I am thinking of using but if it is only good on slots it is not as attractive.
The employee I spoke to on the phone said it may not be good in most VP machines but that there are a few that take it. She couldn't specify past that, just said some players had told her some VP machines take them. Does anyone here have any experience getting VP machines to take Reel Rewards at The Rio? private email is fine if you don't want o post it to the board.
thanks for any info

Yes, there are video poker machines at Rio that will take the reel rewards tickets. Most are carnival type video poker such as Ultimate X and the ilk. At Caesars there is usually a sticker above the TITO that tells you whether a machine will take reel rewards.
No, you cannot just cash out the reel rewards, you must play the amount on the ticket through once to cash out.
I recommend playing the $500 through once and cashing out then finding better paytables. Even if you play it through on a slot machine with a 90% return it's still an expected value of $450.
Good luck.

[vpFREE] Re: Re: Palms Buffet
>>>We were at the Palms last week(5 days ending June 20) and the cocktail
service at the Black Jack and Pai Gow tables were REALLY slow...but when
they did finally arrive, there were very cordial and fun, as were the
dealers. We didn't do the buffet, but the Nove (pro No Va) steakhouse was very
good<<<
I don't get over to the Palms all that often, but I have been there on
occasion to use up my points for the Breakfast buffet. I wouldn't call it
horrible by any means, just a little more "sparce" that you'd expect, even
comparing it to the Gold Coast across the street.
I still find enough VP worth playing there to justify a stop and when I've
been there, the drink service has been on a parr with any other of the
hipster joints.
I'd be curious to find out from the folks that have had bad drink service,
which side of the "tipping" arguement they come down on? (In other words,
do you get in there enough to get a reputation for tipping or not and do
you think that makes any difference. And what kind of tip do you have to
leave to get a phone number?)

[vpFREE] Re: Question on RR good times pay poker
The Silver Legacy about 2-3 years ago had a lone Big Times machine. God, I loved that thing. Made a lot of money on it and it disappeared. As far A's I know no one else ever had it on their floor. The multiplier was determined by the lowest card of the original 5 dealt. The lower the cards, the higher the multiplier. As long as it was a Jack or lower it had a multiplier. The best part I's aces were considered low. Dealt hands were amazing.
[vpFREE] Re: How long before the Palms FPDW disappear?
Right, that slot director owns the other 80%? I once asked my Union President about changes in the company, and he swore up and down it wasn't going to happen. It did a month later.

Never!!! I have asked and there are no plans to ever remove the 5/9 Deuce progressive at the Palms. It has been there since day 1 and they consider it a fixture.
This comes to me directly from the Slot Director. I also asked him to let me know if that changes.
