And the progressive machines that aren't at the bar, but which are
linked to the ones at the bar, are 7/5.

[vpFREE] More on Downtown Grand

Appreciated Royal Flusher report and pictures on Downtown Grand.  Place is very nice - well done.  Best VP is on dollar plus level.  Saw JOB 9/6 in high limit area.
Went to soft opening on Sunday, October 27.  Opened at 5 pm.  We arrived at 5:30 pm.  At 5:45 pm hit 25c DDB progressive Royal Flush for 1,043. Mine may have been first RF at DG.  Thanks to skill (we have done our homework and practice) and some luck (since the 25c DDB progressive was 8/5).  Regular 25c DDB is 9/5.
   Staff was welcoming and helpful.
Went back briefly on Tues 10/29.  Music was turned up a number of notches and made playing uncomfortable.  Left early because of loud noise.
But it was fun, well worth a visit.  Of course to us it will always be the old "Lady Luck".

According to "Gambling with an Edge" this past Thursday, Southpoint will not have 2x points on Halloween.

Does anyone know if South Point is offering 2x points on Halloween 10/31?

Went to their website and couldn't find anything, but I saw they have 2x points on Thanksgiving 11/28. Also checked the LVA Bonus Point Days and nothing was showing for South Point.

Oh well, our trip to Las Vegas ended up being all rooms comped and all the rooms were great. All of our food was free except for about. $50 at STK and the dinner and fruit at Peppermill. The hot dogs were 2 for 1 on a LVA coupon. Spent or lost approx $2,300. ------------------------------------

[vpFREE] Rampart - Incompetence or Greed?

Rampart just published details of their drawing promotion for November.  They advertise that they're giving away $75,000 in this promotion.

Here's the skinny:
- 25 prizes total (8x$150,7x$200,5x$250,2x$500,1x$750,1x$1000,1x$5000)
- total of $11,600 prizes available, average prize $464
- 2 drawings every Saturday, 8 names per drawing, 5 Saturdays = 80 winners
- 80 X $464 = $37,120

That is significantly less than $75,000.  I already called the person I was told was in charge of the drawing structure.  I left a hurried message giving the details because often voicemail systems limit the message length.  If it was the right person, I hope they are better at listening than they are at calculating.

This is not the first time they have made a LARGE error in proclaiming the amount given away.  I think it was July's drawing.  That time they fixed it by changing the number of names drawn at each drawing from 3 to 5.

It seems you just can't find good help these days.

G'luck all,
Gamb00ler

P.S.    I'm not available    LOL

Re: [vpFREE] Re: My Trip Report

Okay flight leaves at 1:35 PM and we got to the airport with plenty of time. Stopped at the Chicago Deli for a sandwich.
Ok now our flight has been delayed because there is an engine issue. I say fix any engine problems on the ground.
Okay we are getting a different flight. I am not happy about this because I prefer the 767 to either the 757 or the 737. We won't get home tonight. They are going to fly us to Minneapolis then we will have to spend the night there.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: My Trip Report

Tuesday our last full day. Went down to Flamingo to check in for a slot tournament and found that we would be on our flight before the winners were announced so we are not doing the tournament. Fine with me as I do not enjoy their regular slot tournaments. Checked in to the Flamingo then went back to get our things and check out of the Cosmo. My host said we could have another night free but my husband wanted to go to Flamingo as one of his friends from his meetings was there. Our room was very nice with a great view . We went downtown to the D. Looked at their second floor and the old Sigma Derby. Got hot dogs at All American Coney at the D. They were not as good as the ones at South Point. Then we walked over to The Grand and got a player card from a guy on the floor with a small computer. We both played this and that and we both lost. Used some free play coupons at. 4 Queens then headed back to the Strip. Rested some then got our vehicle from valet. Btw we rented a Toyota Sienna from Payless that my husband picked up last Wed and we are returning on Wed the 30th for. $16 per day and after taxes we paid about $177. The vehicle was excellent.
Drove over to the Rio , got our tickets for The Michael Jackson Tribute show, then we ate dinner at the All American Grill and paid with points .
Dinner was okay . The show was very good. I got the tickets through Groupon at. $33 each. Played some vp at the Rio and lost some more.
Back to Flamingo and more vp. I did pretty good on a $1 Wheel of Fortune but ultimately lost. Back to the room to get ready to leave tomorrow.

[vpFREE] Free Room Coupons for Harrah's Las Vegas

A generous friend has asked me to help him "get rid of" two coupons.  These are each good for two free nights, Sunday through Thursday, at Harrah's Las Vegas, through December 26th.  That means they are good over the Christmas holiday.  These work like the ones I gave out for Caesars earlier - the person must make their own reservation using the coupon code and then must present the coupon at check-in.   You must be flexible with your schedule since sometimes not every date is available.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: My Trip Report

I forgot to mention that on the drive downtown, we went by American Gold Pawn (Pawn Stars ) and there was a customer at the window ( it was after hours) and the guy at the window helping the customer was not Chumley. I have been by their place a couple of times and none of the regular guys are ever there.
We didn't return back to the Cosmo until about 3 AM on Monday morning so we slept in.
Cosmopolitan gave me $100 free play (their promotion of lose. $100 get $100 free play. They said I had lost $385. I played it on the $1 progressive but still no royal. The progressive was now at $8300.
Went to STK for dinner as they were having a Halloween party during dinner with the cast of Absinthe performing and all their people were dressed in costumes . The dinner was great and the atmosphere was fun. It was also very pricey. Our bill with tip and no alcohol was $191. I had points to cover about $140 of it. We had a Rice Krispie Shrimp appetizer that was very different but very good. We both had salad , mine was Pear/Endive and his was garden salad both were very good. We both had Filets of different sizes with sides of corn pudding. ( never had born pudding like this but it was delicious) and asparagus. The bread had a green dipping sauce (for Halloween I suspect). Afterwards we went back to our room to change clothes planning to go back downtown , but we both fell asleep (terrible thing to do on a full stomach). Went back down to the casino so my husband could get $100 on losses but that night we both were winning. So no $100 free play for him but about $300 in winnings, still no royal. Still down for the trip about a thousand. We both went back to our room.

[vpFREE] RE: Thai-d Up and Beaten Down (NO VP)

From reading all the trips reports for different posters, I thought everyone always won and wondered what was wrong with me.  Sorry for you loss, but good to know people do lose on this web site.

Question:  How did you get 13 nights at Sams? Where they all comp?  Did you get discount for long stay?

Thanks
