Good points, Bob. It would be nice to get some more reports on what the Hoover Dam Lodge now has for video poker. So far it sounds like only one vpFREE2 user has let them know about the games there.

Anyone can post a database update here or use the "Send Us an Update" tabs on vpFREE2.com.

RE: [SPAM][vpFREE] Re: Mystery Multipliers at Coast Properties?

If they want us to swipe for everything now I hope they will be installing more kiosks and keep them in working order! It's ridiculous standing in line for a kiosk! Often people don't know how to use them. Fumbling around. Re-trying. They are jammed up during drawings and for football season too. Not just Coasts, but most everywhere! Ditto for non-working ticket machines! Off my rant now! :)

The rule of thumb I've heard, which makes intuitive sense, is that
volatility is based on the square root of the number of lines. 4-play
would be twice as volatile or, as I believe you meant when you wrote
that more lines reduces volatility, half as volatile per amount bet as
single line.

Not necessarily a new topic, but I can't find any in-depth discussion or explanation of why, for example, five-play is less volatile than single-play.  If, in fact, it is, is there a formula for calculating the difference?  And is it reasonable to assume 10-play is less volatile than 5-play?

Thanks for any help...

Someone must have hacked his way into Krause's computer.  It's an advertisement.  Hope Jerry's Nugget had to pay for it.

From everyone I talked to - 4x or 5x at Gold Coast and 7x at Suncoast for seniors on Wednesdays.

Also I just got an email from Suncoast saying they are having mystery multipliers every Friday and Saturday in January starting tomorrow. I don't see this on their website so I don't know if it's for everyone.

P.S. I found out the hard way that we really do need to activate the Coast multipliers BEFORE we play.

I am extra conservative  and I have always "played scared" – I would like almost double than these numbers, especially for SpinPoker.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: New Hacienda(Boulder Dam Lodge)

I haven't been there yet, but it is run by Dotty's --- and  Dotty's represents a significant part of my gambling --- but the good games (like NSU) are only for $1 and higher. (Slot club + promotions + mailers move the play very nicely into positive territory.)

If the scouts here are only looking at 25c machines because that's what they usually play, it's no wonder they think there are no good games there. Also if the scouts are only looking for over-100% games before including the slot club and other goodies, again it's no wonder they think there are no good games there.

Re: [vpFREE] RE: Bankroll Question

It's been my anecdotal experience (roughly 75,000 spins) that Spin Poker has lower variance than 10-play. And I believe the reason is how the draw cards are selected. Each drawn card can appear multiple times in its own column, but cannot appear in other columns once it appears. So when holding a pair and drawing three, the three selections in the final column are selected from as few as 41 choices (rather than the 45 each individual line would have in 10-play).

Yes, when drawing things like RF4, the covariance is large since any hit represents 2,3 or 5 Royals depending on the line placement. But there are a lot more times that you draw to a pair or three of a kind that SP's draw method has a smoothing effect on the results.

I may be a blind man describing an elephant. But that's what I have seen.
