Re: [vpFREE] Re: Can this be done using the $500 food credit on 7* trip in Las Vegas
For whatever it is worth....the same is true at all MGM properties in LV
... if you are registered at any of them, you have charge privileges at all
of them.

RE: [vpFREE] Ultimate Play Poker
Stern wrote: I assume
you are talking about Ultimate X. This game is far and away the
toughest VP game to play even close to correct as even 3 play has 81
different strategy tables. (360 for ten play.)
In general
Howard is correct --- but the number of different strategies is off. For Ten
Play, each of the lines can have a multiplier of 1 (meaning no multiplier at
all) to 12 (often a full house, although it's a straight flush in at least some
Deuces Wild Games). The sum of the multipliers can vary between 10 and 120 ---
which leaves a maximum of 111 different strategies. Sometimes one or more of
these numbers are impossible (such as when you have a 12 multiplier and a 10
multiplier but no 11 multiplier, then you can't get to 119.) Also some of the
multiplier totals are VERY far-fetched --- such as a total of 118 can only be
reached by getting 9 full houses and 1 flush. Your best chance to do this would
be to hold two flush cards --- say a suited KQ. It's about 100-to-1 on any hand
to get a flush from that position and about 900-to-1 to get a full house
starting with two unpaired cards. Getting 9 full houses and 1 flush out of 10
tries is, in round numbers, impossible.
For Triple
Play, the maximum number of strategies needed is 27 and for Five Play the
maximum numbers of strategies needed is 51. Most players use approximations and
use one strategy for multiplier sums between 10 and 27. A second strategy for
multiplier sums between 28 and 64. Etc. It's not perfect --- but it is a good
compromise between what's possible and what's humanly feasible.

So the people playing Keno with a different number of spotswere subsidizing your plays?

Mickey you said it was fifty cents a spin and the progressive was at $257. A 5 spot pays 800 quarters or $200 dollars for a twenty-five cent bet. A fifty cent bet would pay $400 without any progressive
>

I'm sure that's true on the machines that you are familiar with. But payscales on keno games come in many different configurations. The particular machines we were playing had a payscale of:
3/5....5 for 1
4/5....30 for 1
5/5....200 for 1....+10% progressive meter.
If you do the math you will see that the average cost to produce a solid five is $169.

It was June, 2011. Shelby is on the highline, very close to Glacier Park. All the towns on the highline are very small. Not that many hotels. The closer you get to Glacier Park in the summertime the harder it is to get a hotel room. They sell out every night. So you have to make reservations well in advance. We paid $101 for a Super 8 hotel room in Cut Bank.
In Kalispell there is a flea bag hotel called the Blue & White. Just $44 a night there. The rest of the hotels, even Motel 6, are up around $100 a night for that time of year. May through September is the tourist season here. The rest of the year the hotel rates are about half of what they are in the summertime.

Also, people tell stories, that's what we do. The court case is another story, but it has to be mostly fact based. People do a lot of bayesian inferencing and oftentimes just faulty inferencing, but those kinds of conclusions are generally not admissible in court. As Sgt. Friday used to say: "Just the facts".

Love to have heard some concrete examples. I suppose I could have followed up on that one but it seemed pretty obvious to me what he was talking about. In most areas of life, when you get information from a second source it almost always is in variance to some degree with what you heard from the first source --- ESPECIALLY if one or both of the sources has good incentive to twist the facts, consiously or not, to help his position. Re: [vpFREE] Ultimate Play Poker
yes, there are multiple strategy variants for all the Ultimate X games.
Please search the archives over the last 2 years - key "ultimate X", and
search the wizard of odds for details.

On some of the Ultimate Play pay tables getting a flush triggers an 10X or
11X multiple on the next hand (depending on the game being played). Is a
strategy deviation a good idea to increase one chances of getting a flush to
achieve this bonus, if so when and for what hands? Thanks

Yes you should definitely make changes. All three flushes are playable. One
hand card included in a three flush is played instead of just the high card.
High card + ten + another in the suit is played over the two RF. Two suited
high cards + a third suited card are better than two RF but at certain
multiplier combos may not be true. May other changes too. All DB and DDB
games hold two pair even when one of them are aces. Inside straights are
playable and often better than two high cards unsuited.
Deuces wild also have a ton of strategy changes.
I have not really studied this game enough. It is a ton of fun to play but
has insane volatility (variance) and nobody will ever get close to perfect
on it.

[vpFREE] Hall of Fame
I voted for Ernie Moody. Anyone who transformed the landscape in a particular discipline should be in its Hall of Fame. While there are several others among the nominees that meet that description, none has had the impact that Ernie has had.
