Speaking from my own experience, I flopped a royal twice in 2003 (VERY
early in my "informed" play history and while a much more infrequent
player), and nailed another much rarer royal from a 5-card draw the
same year.

I've seen nothing so spectacular since. I'm beginning to suspect I
might run your 15 years before being dealt a royal again.

I have a dear friend who lately seems to see dealt royals like
clockwork (well, modestly ahead of time against a 650K hand clock).

I'm sorry to say that I'm a little green with envy with his recent
3-play hit ;) Two hits that I consider the nirvana of vp are such a
multiplay deal and a royal hit from a lone held 10 (there are a couple
of games where that can be a correct hold).

Well, those that can, do, and those that can't whine about it, or
publish. Dude, not only is this a real job, it's a very lucrative one.
If you can't understand that, no problem, but don't hate on it
because you can't process it at a professional level. Again, your
hobby, my business. I don't torch plays as a general rule, but all
that means is that someone will if I don't, so I tend to be tight
lipped about it. It tends to maximize MY return from VP.

There's a great story from the midwest several years ago where the
casino put in some super pay All American, the 103% version. It was
likely a mistake. A Vegas pro got a phone call and headed to the game
and started camping out. A couple of locals got the genius idea to out
the pro and the play to Slot Ops. Guess what happened next? Everyone
got restricted by the casino, and the game got taken out.

The quoted passage here only proves my point. You, like most gamblers,
want it all your way. This much I understand, but to couch what you
say as a recreational activity doesn't even pass the smile test. You
want a recreational activity, try macrame. Part of the reason you
enjoy VP is the fact you're competing with the house. That much is
fine, but as much as I'm not the only VP player on the planet, but
neither are you (where's Tom Robertson when I need him?). Have a nice
life.

[vpFREE] A Good Run

I've had some good luck recently, the latest of which was my largest VP
jackpot to date. I'll warn you ahead of time--read no further if my
extremely good fortune might encourage you into bad habits. In other words,
don't copy me unless you know for sure you'll win. ;-)

After a brutal beating of an $800 loss playing $1 DDB, I was about ready to
call it a day. However, I decided I'd take a crapshoot at $2 Triple Double
Bonus with a couple final bills and hope to get a lucky quad and quickly
recoup some losses. I FULLY EXPECTED TO COME OUT EMPTY HANDED and I KNEW
THE ODDS WERE AGAINST ME, but ended up holding a single Ace and drawing a 4,
followed by 3 more Aces!! JACKPOT MUSIC!! $8000 felt pretty good.

Then, to make bad habits worse, I put a couple $$ of my winnings into 3-Play
Bonus Wheel Poker ($0.50), again JUST FOR FUN, EXPECTING THE WORST. Got
quad 6's before too long, spun the wheel, and landed on the 2000 highest
payout.

I'd rather be lucky than good any day!

I believe you are a large player, but I do not understand why you
always try to justify your incorrect play on every post. Ask Bob he
will tell the correct play is the same short term or long term unless
your goal is to lose more money.

There have been many other very helpful VP instructors besides Bob.
I found Jean Scott's and Dan Paymar's books very helpful at the start
of my VP career. I have also learned a great deal from several
posters on this forum. There are some really terrific contributors
here.

Hi,
I just received an offer from Harrahs NO for a free cruise. The cruise is from Boston to Canada during fall folliage which should be a beautiful cruise.

I called and was unable to get confirmation on the type of Cabin. I've read the archives which stated that taxes and gratuities are usually included, which is great. Can anyone provide any info on the type of cabin and any recent updates on the VP on the Jewel of the Seas?
