[vpFREE] Hosts and Comps question

I've been playing VP for over 10 years and have been receiving free stay and related comp offerings for the past 5 years. I now have a host at 4 different Vegas hotels. I have an etiquette/strategy question.

If I am staying at Hotel A, where I have a host and have met my coin in requirements and I decide to go gamble at Hotel B, where I also have a host, but am not staying on a comp, what is the proper etiquette/strategy?

Should I use my player card, thereby announcing to the host at Hotel B that I am willing to gamble at his property without a comp stay? Or should I try and fly under the radar and not use my player card? Of course this tactic goes out the window if I hit a reportable jackpot.

Surely others on here have experience with this situation.
What do you do?

Appreciate any and all feedback

Bulldog

[vpFREE] Island View casino

We did this offer several years ago and at that time they accepted a photocopy of a mailer. You must be a new club member to use it. I would go prepared with a photocopy. If they confiscate your mailer or voucher from another casino, you can always try getting a replacement copy from the casino you got it from by asking a host or slot club. Island View also was pretty generous with follow up mailers after I played the free play (plus more) through and continued mailers for awhile even when I just did follow up free play (in diminishing amounts).

[vpFREE] Re: Informal, SERIOUS survey on Quick Quads

Yes hohoho you did get lucky at South Point but it was clear to them that you were not angle shooting, you had nothing to gain. In the future be more careful on holds to big hands. Reminds me of 2 incidents in the past. First at Palms: a player drew to As in double bonus and his first 3 draw cards were Ks,Qs,Js. He showed me his final hand complaining that it has been so long since his last royal. I jokingly said 'I hope you didn't throw away the 10s'. He then remembered that he did throw away the 10s and tried to get Palms to pay him $4000. After about 1/2 hour of back and forth arguments the Palm's suits had the last word and he was not paid. The other one was at Bally's ac joker 5k progressive. A player was dealt a straight flush that included the joker. He turned to me and said look at what I got. I said great but don't forget to hold your cards. Thinking that I wasn't paying attention he again told me to look at his straight flush. I again reminded him to hold his cards. For some reason he got flustered and threw the hand away. There went $250 down the drain, or did it? I told the player to get an attendant and try to get paid the $250. My logic was it was clearly a mistake on his part and he couldn't be angle shooting because he couldn't get 5k because he discarded the joker. He 'discarded' my advise and just kept playing on. I believe Bally's would have paid him but we will never know!

[vpFREE] Re: Informal, SERIOUS survey on Quick Quads

This happened at South Point when I was there in April.  Playing quarter 5 play I was dealt 4 of a kind 8's.  But I play fast and missed one of the 8's!  An attendant got a suit and they examined the machine and paid me for the 4oak in cash. South Point is class!

I've only used one of these "match" offers, and was never asked to turn in the original.  They booked it based on an emailed copy.

vpFREE Posting Guidelines - 1 JUN 2014

http://www.west-point.org/users/usma1955/20228/V/POL_P.htm

1. Everyone should read and be familiar with the vpFREE
FAQ before posting messages on vpFREE Forums.

2. Every message's subject line should accurately identify
the content of the message, to facilitate faster navigation
by interested or uninterested members.

3. If you reply to a message and change the subject matter,
either start a new thread (preferable) with a new subject
line or rename the subject line to reflect its new focus.

4. When replying to messages, quote just enough of the
previous post to maintain continuity. Delete the rest of
the previous post.

5. When replying to messages, clearly differentiate the
previous message(s) from your comments, so that it will be
easy to identify who wrote what.

6. Never post lengthy copyrighted material verbatim without

their real name there.

8. As a spam prevention measure, no one can upload to the

Netiquette , and to practice politeness and show good taste
in their vpFREE posts.

11. Any post that disagrees with vpFREE Dogma and
reaches contradictory conclusions, should be supported with
significant, persuasive documentation. Generalizations and
limited anecdotal evidence aren't persuasive.

12. Most vpFREE members rely on the forum for accurate
information, and may misunderstand, misinterpret or be
confused by tongue-in-cheek posts which are presented as
fact. Always make it very clear in your posts if they are
tongue-in-cheek, by using "smilies", stating that you're
kidding or something similar.

[vpFREE] Re: Casinos that match another casino's free play offer

I've seen it done both ways.  Local casino that was matching any other offer(notice I said matching - not multiplying) 1st started not taking the coupon, then started taking it , then later stopped the offer.  Where you make out is those casinos where FP is automatically on your machine, but you still have a a mailer showing you that you get it.  Either way, looks like you're a winner by using it.

Re: [vpFREE] New rule on point multipliers at Orleans/Gold Coast?

On the positive side, website says there is no longer a point limit at any of the properties.  I don't know if that will apply to all future multiplier events, or just this particular promotion.
