Yes. You'll have the best chance at properties you haven't played at in
2012 but you have played at sometime in 2008-2011. But "best chance" is
still infinitessimally small. It's not worth the time and gas unless you'll
be at the property anyway for some reason. It's a holiday weekend and their

Tom,

Thanks for the feedback, makes sense to me.

Dave,

My apology to be delayed in responding but AOL tossed your message into my spam folder, sorry. Excellent review of the product, tho I think it's a bit more developed than I am ready to tackle. For a more professional or higher level player, it sounds great!

I woudn't waste my time learning 10/7 DDB, I've only checked out tons of
different casino's and never found that one, even in tournaments -that it
exists now was most likely a bum steer. If your a DDB fan , the 2 variants I would develop strategy sheets for are:
8/5 super double double bonus (99.69)
9/6 DDB Aces and Faces (99.46 )

The spreadsheet just looks complicated in xml format. It is a very simple spreadsheet and more importantly, people can see why and how it works. Most online calculators just give you an answer and you have no idea how or why it works. In excel you can look at each formula and figure out what is happening.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: A royal day!

I also have two comments: Optimal play holds have the highest theoretical value & expected return, but they do not guarantee the highest return. I think that's what was being referred to; and, it is not required to tip on handpays. In fact, I've saved five figures by never doing it in my career.

From: "alan3262" <alan3262@yahoo.com>

I don't play Double Double Bonus (I live in NY and they only have 9/6 DDB in AC, so I play 9/6 Jacks or Better), but I checked the strategy and if my understanding is correct, it looks like you made the correct decision in going for the royal flush rather than keeping 4 to a flush. I'm just concerned that by saying "deciding to go for it", it implies that you are deviating from optimal strategy by making some decisions on your own as opposed to always making the decision that produces the highest expected return. Hopefully this isn't true (although of course everyone is entitled to play however they want).

I've had that experience playing quarter 9/6 Jacks or Better and winning $1,000 for a royal flush. The bells don't go off and no one comes by to congratulate you like when you play dollars and win $4,000, and you can't really yell as loud when you hit it, even though the difficulty in getting it is the same regardless of denomination. The good thing is that it doesn't get reported to the IRS and you don't have to tip the slot attendant for a hand pay.

It turns out that it takes about one hour per episode to move it over to Apple for them to make the feeds available. I had no idea. Munchkin has offered to continue to do this for a fee --- and Shack and I have decided that it's well worth what Munch is asking. I don't know how long it will take for this to get going --- likely a day or two at most --- but we know there's a problem and are working to fix it. Bob

Would it be logical to play Bonus Poker quick quads at GVR on 6X days? I like the lower variance.

So is this "no play" at any Coast or each Coast? In other words, if you only
play at 2 of them "actively," you may have a decent shot at the other 2 if
you haven't played them in a year or 2?

[vpFREE] DIAD ?s update

so here's what's happened since i earned the DIAD,

several days after earning my DIAD, i looked on (what used to be called) myharrahs.com and noticed that they still showed me as a gold member.  the online Q&A was no help as to why this might be true, so i sent fired off a  message asking why.

three business days later they claimed that since i hadn't earned my DIAD at my home property, it took time to process properly (my words, not theirs, but certainly their intent).  the next day myharrahs showed me as a diamond member.  (i'd say the amount of time it takes to process properly is however fast it takes to react when you get kicked in the shins by email.)

now what's interesting is i'm not showing diamond everywhere.  yes, myharrahs shows diamond.  so does my newest card (which has an expiration of 3/13, thank you very much).  BUT the swiping kiosk in the flamingo (i'm talking about the wall board displays sprinkled down the aisle near the registration desk) states my status as gold when you stop to decode the computerese that's at the bottom of the display screen.

(and, just for the record, i'm also showing no offers of any type ... and haven't since earning DIAD.)

my advice is if you do earn your DIAD to write to the caesars folks (use the form here https://totalrewards.custhelp.com/app/ask/list) and inform them of your great advance.

for what it's worth,
m.

Randon deal but lousy paytables. You are generally looking at things in the 95-97% range at best.

Liked the story and glad you won. It's good that you're paying attention to the pay tables and playing better games. I don't want to be negative, but I do have one criticism, and that is that you used the words "deciding to go for it".

The good thing is that it doesn't get reported to the IRS and you don't have to tip the slot attendant for a hand pay. I have a cell phone but no camera on it, so I've never been able to get a picture.

Congratulations and hope you keep winning.

She even loaned me her strategy card while we played quarter video poker (which I now know doesn't have the best EV's!) at Harrah's while her husband was in a World Series of Poker tourney. . .
>
> And now a quick recap. . . The first time I played VP was December 31, 1999. I hit a royal that first night and have been playing ever since. I would get out to Vegas anywhere between two and fifteen times a year. Never gambled a lot, so I usually just limited my play to Harrah's (mainly Harrah's and Rio) as I was comped there (well, at least for two nights a month!). I did pay attention to pay tables, but typically played them as I was too lazy too look elsewhere.
>
> During the last six months of 2011, I made a major change. I really started following this site, made some life changes and made it out to Vegas quite a few times. I limited my play to pretty much only SouthPoint, which I had found out about through this site and Gambling With an Edge (Thanks, Bob, Frank and Munchkin!). I purchased Video Poker for Winners to practice my hands and playing methods. Although I didn't hit anything major, my dollars did seem to last longer and I was able to enjoy myself longer while playing.
>
> At the end of December/beginning of January, I made the leap, took a new job and moved to Reno. I waited a little over a month doing some homework and looking over the various casinos before jumping in. After seeing something with an EV of over 100% at Atlantis, I decided to give it a try. I found the machines (JoB 9/6 and DDB 10/6 where you have to put in ten coins)and had a little luck last weekend (my first weekend of play).
>
> Yesterday, I tried my luck again at the DDB. My only regret, is due to my current life changes, I was only playing nickels. I started at $100, went down to about $60 and then hit a couple of quads to reach about $125. After that, it was a steady decline until I hit a straight flush which bailed me out for awhile. Then, another decline. I was down to between $10-20 and was having a hard time deciding when to quit. I like to set stop losses and leave with something, but had set the $100 as my allotment for the day. I ended up getting a hand with JQK and 2 of diamonds and a low spade or club, I can't remember which. Deciding to go for it, I dropped the 2D and pressed the draw button. To my surprise, the 10 and Ace of diamonds showed up! 8000 coins!!!! My first royal in over a decade. Like I said, I wish it would have been quarters, but I can live with it. I tried to get a guy sitting next to me to take a picture (I don't have a cell phone) and send it to my email, but he didn't have that ability either. I played a little longer, but ended at $410 with a nice solid (for me anyway!) winning day.
