Dr. McCown was the host and I was the guest.
I have just posted a special not-aired show where Dr. William McCown interviews myself and three top VP professionals including my old boss.
It's not one of our regular shows, but I think you'll all find it very interesting. The main goal was to give the doctor his first access to folks in our profession. We wanted to see if we could identify any common personality traits that might be insulating professional players from the more negative aspects of gambling, for the possible purpose of developing new treatments strategies.
You'll have to be the judge if we succeeded.
It's a hour long and commercial free.
Go to https://www.progressivevp.com/radio_show.php
Look at the very bottom for the "Apr 18th" link.
If you listen to this show and have any suggestions or insight you'd like me to pass on to Dr. McCown please feel free to contribute. If you were ever going to contribute this is the time to do it.
Send email to: gamblingwithanedge@gmail.com

Very insightful point. I believe this is similar to "The No True Scotsman" fallacy.

Because what they are looking for is the expert's concurrence with their thought process, not for something that would run counter to their preconceived notion. If the expert agrees with them, that shows just how smart they are. If the expert disagrees with them, that OBVIOUSLY shows just how ill-informed the "expert" is.
RE: [vpFREE] 2 X points at South Point for April
I sent a note to my contact person and will report as soon as I hear back.
They gave me that prior to the start of the month. They may have changed
their minds. Thanks for the heads up.

Scot,
You sure about 2x points at South Point on April 24th? As I was collecting
the last of our gas cards this morning I mentioned the fact that the 24th
was double points. The slot club knew nothing but since I usually don't
make mistakes they made a call and told me that their boss said there was NO
double points in April because of half price gas cards.
Can you verify please?

Nope - they weren't. That's why I posted here.
Some of the Reno locals might be able to answer your question at this site.

[vpFREE] Re: Casino MonteLago - Better Luck This Time
The new company is Intrepid Gaming LLC but their website notes
only that they do casino mangement. Do they own any casinos?
One problem Lake Las Vegas venue is it's out-of-the-way on a distressingly inaequate arterial road. There was a recent newspaper article on fixing it up. Hope that helps.

First let me say thank you for interjecting a Con-Bob statement. I was beginning to worry the thread was becoming too overwhelmingly positive.
But I think you are confusing rude with inexperienced. Neither Bob nor myself have much radio experience and I even caught myself cutting off a couple of guests in our early interviews. Though I've been called a lot of things in my day, rude really isn't one of them. I was just too focused on getting everything in and the quickly evaporating time constraints. It's really easy to do.
When I noticed our failings I brought it up to Bob and he immediately agreed we needed to work on it together, and we've been trying to do better since.
If you hear us do ANYTHING on-air that you think could use improvement, please don't hold your counsel. We need your insight to improve...and at least speaking for myself, I love constructive criticism, as long as it is constructive and some good comes out of it.
My Mother always used to say, "If only god the gift would give us, to see ourselves as others see us."
It's not an easy thing to do! Keep the comments coming.
Oh and "Don't cut off your guests". Got it...check.

(I am sure he got paid more than that for mentioning M in his article.)

[vpFREE] Re: Casino MonteLago - Better Luck This Time
The free rent option might have come in on the last few months but wasn't there when the original talks started on a new lease agreement. I talked to one of the prospective buyers at that time and there was no mention of the lease being held back. The buyer backed out last minute when it was announced that the Ritz would be closing. The Ritz is now the Ravella Hotel which, I beleive, is a 4 star hotel.

Seriously Joel? Because YOU had a discussion with him on a play and he answered you impacts how we should view THIS story?
No offense, but I could care less whether he helped you or tripped you on the way out. It has nothing to do with the scenario in the article. In fact, it's actually showing he is a hypocrite. For one person he attempts to charge for advice, and to you he gives free advice.
