[vpFREE] Re: Getting Banned from Rampart Casino

I have heard other video poker players have been banned from Rampart. Also, other casinos are preventing good video poker players from earning any comps (I know, from personal experience, that the Palms casino does this).

[vpFREE] Re: Getting Banned from Rampart Casino

I played a high limit 99.57% machine (I did not play any other casino game at Rampart). I always played on multiplier days, but also played on some non-multiplier days as well. My hours of actual daily play would vary....from less than 1 hour (if I hit a few big jackpots early on), to 20 hours. I did not piss off anyone at the casino, I am very quiet person at the casino and focus on the game. I can only assume that the high limit play, and the amount of money they were losing, put me on their radar screen for banning....but I do not know for sure if they would have treated me differently if I was playing lower stakes.

Rampart Casino told the Gaming Commission that they felt I was too good of a player and just did not want me to play there anymore. Unfortunately, according to the Gaming Commission, casinos are allowed to ban anyone, for almost any reason. So, if you play at Rampart (and our fortunate enough to get a good winning streak), don't be surprised if you suddenly find two security guards escorting you out of the building.

I always cash out all my points at the end of each gambling day, so that was not a problem. However, I earned thousands of raffle tickets for their weekly cash drawings.... which they did take away from me.

It's generally not a good idea to bank a lot of comp, this just gives the casino another motive to 86 you or change the comp program. Of course if the play was any good, you just get a family member or friend to do it for you or trade it to others for another play.

[vpFREE] Re: Getting Banned from Rampart Casino

They banned me in March (and I only just started playing there about two months before that). I am a high limit player and did have a good winning streak, so I am sure I hurt their bottom line. A week before I was thrown out, I had a conversation with another video poker player at Rampart, who told me her friend was banned.....so I am definitely not the first video poker player Rampart gave the boot to

[vpFREE] Re: Best place to grind seven stars?

#1 Your thinking about base/bonus/RC's/tier score is correct.

#2 Someone who is currently playing at Horseshoe Hammond can probably answer this. I think they have some sort of cashback program but I don't know the details.

#3 No, you don't get extra bonus points just for being at a certain tier unless they have a specific promo going on.

#4 Yes, you can use your Reward Credits for shows, meals, rooms and just about everything else they offer.

--- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "TedZ" <alienantfarm82@...> wrote:

My understanding is that base credits and bonus credits spend exactly the same, but only base counts towards tiers of the program. So I get to spend 100 credits, but I don't consume base credits they are just a running tally on my tier score. Is that accurate?
>
> 2. On VPFree I see "CB or BBC: 450 Reward Credits = $1, Earned Comps: 100 Reward Credits = $1, Cashback AND Comps" listed for Horseshoe Hammond. I don't really understand what that means. Let's say I wagered $4500 on VP there. I should earn 450 base credits which equal $4.50 comp dollars AND $1 in cash back?
>
> 3. Absent any point multiplier promotions do you normally get extra bonus points just for being a certain tier in the rewards program? Like in poker we got 30 base + 70 bonus per hour, is there a similar thing in VP that is accessible 365 days a year?
>
> 4. It sounds like if I do the full 100,000 for 7star I will get at least 1,000 comp dollars (and possibly several times this depending on how point multipliers work). Can I use these on a 1-1 ratio to pay for rooms and meals and caesars properties? What types of other things could I spend them on? Do they work for shows?

[vpFREE] State Tax withholdings - casual vs pro gambler?

I have read some sources that say getting withholdings back from states like Indiana is difficult and nearly impossible for a casual gambler. I am confused by this because the losses are itemized on sch A for a casual gambler while sch C is used by a professional one and the fed reutrn is the basis for determining net taxable gains on gambling.

So, can anyone help me understand why there may be a much harder time for a casual gambler to get state gambling withholdings refunded? What am I missing? Would like to know before I set up a trip outside NV.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Travel Plans

The more I think about #1 reason is SWA screwing up the Rapid Rewards Program. I can't even figure it out. I remember 6 or so years ago, American Airlines had $99 roundtrip flights from SJ to LV. It was on one of those I was able to sit next to Mike Tyson, who was in Oakland for a pigeon race.
