No, there is no wi-fi at Starbucks in the GN. This is a common misconception. Most Starbucks in casinos are not owned by Starbucks. Due to this, most do NOT offer some of the standard Starbucks offerings, such as wi-fi.

I don't blame you for sounding pissed off, sounds kinda nitty of Stations to have a "hidden" policy like that. It doesn't sound right that you can give them all that action, expecting to be rewarded later on, but get surprised by being no-mailed just for not losing enough. That's a lousy policy.

Can I ask you what were some of the typical dollar progressives you hit in your good year? What were some of the base games? Were they 9-6 JoBs? 8-5 BPs? Or some lower schedules, like 7-5 BP or 9-6 DB?

thanks,

RE: [vpFREE] Just got back from Vegas....still no Royal

I played the Hangover slots at Hard Rock last weekend and had a great time. Definitely recommend them.

I looked back on some records of when I purchased the Texas Holdem machines from the Horseshoe and it was in Oct. 1999. About 4 or 5 months earlier was when I hit the only 25 cent royal of my life. We've been going two or three times every year since then. This past trip we needed a jack of diamonds and got the jack of hearts. I guess that's as close as we've got to one. The good news however is I think I am way ahead of schedule on hitting the ducks. We hit them three times this trip. (The last time they were dealt to us). Altogether I guess we've hit the ducks about 25 times. Someone once posted that for hitting the 4 two's a certain number of times you should hit a royal. Was it like 5 times?

We stayed at Bill's because it is close to the Palms and still on the strip. Boy has it changed since the Barbary Coast days. They wanted $10 to check in at 2:30 rather than at 3:00. A room with a view of the fountains was $20 per night more.

Everything was extra!! I thought when we got up to our room there may be a meter on the toilet paper and every sheet after the first one would cost extra.

I'm sure many of you remember the red cards the Barbary used to give you for a comp at the Victorian. I actually still have one that has not been used. Oh for the good ole days again.

We played at the Palms and they are now back in my good graces. I regret blowing all my points when they took the full pay's out. I plan on staying there in Oct when we go out again. We played many of the "penny" slots and had a great time playing The Hangover slots. If you get a chance play it. If you enjoyed the movie you'll like the slots. We actually made some money on them.

Keep peeing in urinal #6.

[vpFREE] Bad hosts in AC do it again....

We are heading home from 7* event.... Last night found out from a friend that Caesars Atlantic City (maybe other AC casinos too) give 7* members $100 spa credit once a quarter, services or product. Also some sort of once a year special spa comp, maybe $400 or more (not sure on that). No one told us! I was just at spa earlier in day and used up comps.

Why didn't spa mention it? (yep told them I was 7*). Worse, my host (hosts on several visits!) didn't mention anything. Also, Harrahs.com website only lists golf under 7* amenities. 2500 or so 7* people in town for 7* Signature Event, and no mention of any of this in their promotion for it either. I'm not sure when these spa benefits started, but apparently some time ago. I was there last Oct too, and both my husband and I are 7*.

I'm burning mad, and so are some friends of mine, and maybe now you are too!
------
Another host glitch, among many, my friends had their host arrange a special ride to AC, and were supposed to be getting a SUV to go back to airport, since they had unusual load of luggage. Arrived at valet this morning...no SUV, no limo, just get on a huge bus (with everyone else).

----

More to come on Atlantic City event soon. I'll just say a lot of it was poorly designed, but Diana Ross was excellent! (and rumors about her lip-syncing due to not gear performance at Palazzo in Vegas a few years ago not true).

You should also be able to get free wi-fi at the Golden Nugget Starbucks. It has been a year since I stayed at MSS and they still had it then, but the reliability and speed there have been somewhat suspect in the past.

I have purchased the in-room access at the 4Q. I think it's only around $10 per day and the speed and reliability are very good. To me, I'd rather pay a few bucks per day than have to drag my laptop from hotspot to hotspot. (But then, I do not have an iPad or other small laptop device - it's a regular size laptop with a 17" screen.) I might feel differently if I had a more portable device.

As of a year or so ago, The Main Street Station had it. I believe the
McDonald's doesn't.

the7thwarrior is absolutely correct. If you are a winner, you will be placed on their DNI (do not invite) list and will be excluded from all future mailings, promotions, etc.

I find the "We Love Locals" tag line very amusing...

[vpFREE] LVA Question of the Day - 18 JUN 2012

LVA Question of the Day - 18 JUN 2012

Q: At CityCenter properties, I understand Veer is the only
true residential tower in the complex. I was told several
days ago that sales of unsold units have been halted by
management. I saw a poster on the side of the building about
leasing. Is Veer becoming a rental complex and what happens
to all the early buyers of units?
