Re: [vpFREE] Re: Sad news...

Dan Paymar was a real gentleman as well as a good math guy.  Brad and I met with him and his wife quite a few times  and had long chats about the many aspects of VP!

Re: [vpFREE] Sad news...

I never knew Dan Paymar, but nevertheless had "Video Poker - Precision Play" and "Video Poker - Optimum Play" as my introductions to the game.  We have all learned from him, directly or indirectly, and we will therefore all miss him.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Sad news...

That's pretty shocking.   I think he posted something here just a few weeks ago.

I never met Dan, but I corresponded with him a few times over the past 15+ years.   He was always polite and responsive.   I appreciated that he adopted the "jasbo/Sorokin" name I suggested for the solution to the long term risk of ruin problem in video poker.

I'm sorry to hear he's gone.

[vpFREE] Re: Sad news...

Dan Paymar was instrumental in my development as a video poker player. His books, Precision Play and The Best of Video Poker Times were at the center of it. I learned how to "make dollar money playing quarter video poker" from Dan.  My condolences to his family. RIP, Dan.
