Re: [vpFREE] Re: Proposition 3 on the Nevada Ballot affects Video Poker Players B

Proposition 3 (actually called State Question 3) would amend Nevada Revised Statutes to create a 2% tax to be imposed on a margin of gross revenue of entities doing business in Nevada whose total revenue for any taxable year exceeds $1 million, with proceeds of the tax going to the State Distributive School Account the be apportioned among Nevada's school districts and charter Schools. This explanation was copied directly from the actual ballot language presented to voters on the ballot.

Re: [vpFREE] VP - Bucket list - Minus 1

Re your bucket list I've had 3 multi-line dealt royals, but I'm still waiting for a redraw royal, Congratulations.

I was at the 4 Queens on that same offer as you, only difference was I couldn't hit a damn thing.
It was, however, a great deal. If their objective was to attract a bunch of players that would give them a lot of action, the promotion was a great success.

Subject: [vpFREE] VP - Bucket list - Minus 1

Today I play my usual 10-hand 25C game(slitely less than 100% EV), primarily to get max entries for slot tourn. About 7 hands in, I get dealt 4oak so I'm shortly $600 up w/ nowhere near max entries so ON I GO. By the time I get the points I need, I'm up about $200 so I go play the tourn(lousily I mite add). I was gonna leave, but I'm close to enuff points for the valuable monthly gift(a piece of painted cement(which my house if full of BTW). In goes the $200, plus another $300...CRAP - shudda left.

When I went back I go to different machine, but then think...That dam machine has been throwing me 4-2-royal, on 1 or 2 hold for the hour or so that I played it, & altho I know better, I decided to go back to original machine. So I get "nothing-to-hold"(been doin that a lot lately). The draw button brings one pair of aces in positions 1 - 9, & lo & behold, position 10 throws out my 1st in 11 years of VP a lovely spade ROYAL. Knock 1 thing offa my VP - Bucket list. One thing remains...altho I play 90 - 95% here at home & almost entirely 10 hand, I've yet to have a dealt royal here & never on multi play & I play quite a bit. I've gotten 3 @ 4Q & 1 @ Hard Rock

One more thing worth mentioning...Mid Oct, 4Q had a VIP special weekend with mostly VP folks there (I think) . Double points on weekend up to $500 in FP. I was there & luckily got a $1 Royal which let me come home with a decent profit. One lady got 3 $1 royals about 20 minutes apart...all same machine, all clubs. I know of at least 7 $1 royals & I'm sure there were several more. The $1 DB machines were just about impossible to get on, as most were held by a few folks teaming up. It was a great deal, but I really doubt they saw a positive outcome & doubt they'll do it again(Altho I sure hope so...I know I'll be back again if offered).

Far as I'm concerned 4Q is rite near the top for places-to-play for low-level(25C to $1). Certainly not fancy, but they've treated me very well over the years. We'll see now that they've changed their comp system slightly.

[vpFREE] Third Caribbean Cruise Added

If you know anyone who wanted to take the Signature Event cruise out of New
Orleans to the Western Caribbean, a third has been scheduled for December
14-21. Anyone who was on the wait list will probably get first choice, but
it's worth checking.

[vpFREE] Re: Bob Dancer's LVA - 4 NOV 2014

Bob wrote, quoting Ed I think: "Your results in any session are pure noise. There is no information there."

Below N0 (variance/edge^2 hands) noise (or luck) is dominant. Of course as Ed suggests, you should record these noisy results, and add them up, eventually the signal begins to come through the noise. Over N0 the signal becomes dominant. The value of the signal is important, because you may have made some faulty assumptions, such as assuming you play computer perfect GTO at all times under all conditions. Typically there are some "leaks", the "unknown unknowns" if you will, and if you keep careful records, this will begin to be expressed in the signal that begins to appear after N0. You can also use this signal to make Bayesian adjustments. And last but not least, the government requires you to make an accounting at the end of each year and does not allow loss carry forward for gambling, so an annual accounting loss generates an additional loss that needs to be accounted for in your net edge.

[vpFREE] Re: Thinking of leaving MSS for Plaza, help me decide

Play less at that casino and more at others. I know it doesn't make business sense that casinos penalize customers for playing more, but it is what it is, don't blame the player, blame the system. I guess they must be thinking that if you play over a certain amount you must be one of those evil "ADVANTAGE PLAYERS" or that you are addicted and will play for smaller offers so why should they give you more? Also, you mentioned drinking, how much are you drinking? You know they keep track of that, they're on to the evil "ADVANTAGE ALCOHOLICS". You should be constantly testing to find the minimum amount of play needed to get what you want. If you want to play more, play at another casino, it's not like there's a shortage of casinos. Another trick is to have multiple cards (husband, wife, kids, nannys, poolboys, pets, whatever ...) and to put the minimum play on each card.

The announcement of the new full pay games at the Plaza, along with the recent remodel, has me considering moving my play.

I know some casinos want you to establish 2 or 3 trips of consistent play before sending offers. I don't want to give all my play to Plaza this trip and then stuck with no offers from Plaza or MSS next year (I go annually). I'm also concerned if I only play Plaza's best games I won't get offers (not over 100% return games, just looking at Full pay Bonus Deluxe on the bartops)

I'm happy with 3 - 4 nights comped with a little food thrown my way.

Anyone have advice?

Re: [vpFREE] Thinking of leaving MSS for Plaza, help me decide

On your next 4 day trip, give MSS 3 days of your normal play and on the 4th day give the plaza 1 day of your normal play and see what happens. If you're worried about not getting the same level of offers from MSS, give them a little more play on the days that you play there so that your total play remains the same. Most casinos will send you an offer after one good day of play. The Boyd properties want multiple trips before you start getting extras from the hosts, like Silver and Gold cards and extra food comps, but their mailers come after only one trip as a rule.

Another option would be to book one day at the Plaza and after giving them a day's play see what the host will comp off. I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't at least comp your room at 7 - 10k of play on non 100% machines. If you go this route make sure you book directly with the hotel and charge all meals to your room.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Proposition 3 on the Nevada Ballot affects Video Poker Players B

Fortunately this prop got crushed at the ballot box yesterday. Had it passed I would have had to have a serious discussion with myself about what to do when I grow up.

Fortunately, I don't need to have that discussion at the present time.
