We love the Gold coast Sunday brunch, but today we decided to try the Orleans instead. Big mistake. First nasty woman at cashier counter telling us our coupons were not good because they were for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, NOT brunch. She called host who said our play was at GC so she could not comp at Orleans. Also we were told we could not speak to host and she was at lunch and there was only one. We went to BConnected booth who said our coupon WAS good for brunch. Back to nasty Medeley buffet person, who called B connected, finally got in with 2 for 1 coupon, but no discount for our sapphire card and price was higher than GC.

Orleans had no strawberries, chocolate fountain, or good cupcakes. Did have prime rib instead of steamship beef.

At Gold Coast register people always kind and helpful. Service excellent. So are hosts who had no trouble comping us for a buffet when needed. In fact the other day we went to Cornerstone excellent steakhouse and I asked for $100 comp, host said "are you sure you dont want 150 or 200...here's 200, if you dont use it it will go back to account."

Last time for us at the Orleans.

Re: [vpFREE] South Point comps for oput of town guests

I stopped going to the South Point for the same reason. They actually had the nerve to tell me that they only comp losers, plus their offers to out of towners are virtually non-existent.

Subject: [vpFREE] South Point comps for oput of town guests

I inquired of my host at SP about coming in midweek for a couple of nights later this month and she offered a room at $46.50/night plus taxes, fees and a $21/night resort fee and she would check to see if there would be any comps available upon checkout. Website price for off the street bookings was $51.50 plus taxes, fees and $21/night resort fee for the same nights. I play about $30K per night on 9/6 Bonus Deluxe or JOB.and used to get suite and limo with some food. They apparently have gone to a system where only losers can get comps. I've always liked SP but not with that system. I'm an easy keeper also. Hate to see it go that way because the SP was very pleasant for those of us in our 70s. YMMV

Re: [vpFREE] Stations Point System

My experience is it depends. Stations has Kiosk games at Wildfire, Fiesta, Palms, and "all stations."

Each month the games change and where the points go also change.  Each month the first time I play a kiosk game, I will check my points across each category before I play the game and again after I play the game.

At the kiosk, you can check your point total in the various categories.  One category is "freeplay."   If the points appear in that category then then can be used from free play.  If they do not appear in that category, then the points can be used for dining or Bingo.

There doesn't appear to be a pattern to the games each month, so you need to check each month.  "Most" kiosk games at Wildfire award points to the freeplay category.

I just recently learned that points you get on kiosk games and for other prize-type activities rather than actual play on casino games are not eligible for cashback/free play; they can just be used for comps.  I noticed this when I saw my account on the kiosk and my comp-only point balance is growing at a faster rate than my CB/free play balance.  Is this a recent change or a detail that I wasn't aware of since I hadn't played Stations for a long time before the Palms became a Station?

As I "preach" constantly, I took my own advice and went to the players club desk and asked for written details about their club.  Talk about fine print - I was given a folder with FOUR pages of print so small I finally had to look for my trusty magnifying glass!!

It took me awhile to see where that detail I was puzzled about was explained.  Details galore but not much detail about this.  On page 3, item #7 merely says this:  "Point grants and point adjustments are not eligible for slot/bingo pay and cash back redemption.  #6 was clearer on one important point:  "Points earned by using point days or point multipliers are eligible for slot/bingo play and cash back redemption.

Am I just losing it in my old age - or is this not clear?  My only defense is that I have talked to some other very skilled and knowledgeable players and they did not know this either.  Their comments:  "Hummmmm…those kiosk games aren't as valuable as I thought!!!!"

[vpFREE] Re: Stations Point System

Bad thing about the kiosk games at STN is unless your cashing a coupon or playing anyway you're tripping and reducing your perceived worth to them going forward because swipes usually require you to earn 5 points. For that reason I rarely play the kiosk games unless I'm already going to play.

This has been the case for years at Stations. This is not a new thing that promo points cannot be redeemed for freeplay, only used for comps. No problem, you will want to keep some points for buffets or to use on Senior Day anyway when they are worth 2-1.
