RE: [vpFREE] New Ultimate X?

This is the game that a con man got me to play at the HRH below the sportsbook. He told me he had just hit it and he was on his honeymoon and wanted to share his good fortune. Even showed me a camera pic of dealt 4 2's.
He started to tell me how to play, and started to touch the buttons before I told him to just hold himself.
The con was for me to get something dealt, and then convince me to walk away and then he would play the next hand and get all the multipliers for each of the ten lines.

PS After I left I saw him try this with another women. I alerted security, but he was gone.

This is an easy explanation. Next time you see this game try this. Find a screen with " next hand" multipliers on the screen. Play the next hand at a 5 coin per hand level. The multipliers will count for that hand and even though the hand is over it will show the multipliers from the past hand and no new multipliers for the next hand due to short coining the max bet. If you then cash out the screen showing your past hand and multipliers looks like it is available for future play. This is probably what you saw rather than future multipliers.

[vpFREE] Re: New Ultimate X?

NYNY has a bank of these newer UX where the played off multipliers stay on the screen. Looks like they are active, very deceiving. Sounds like the same version,

They didn't on this machine.

I'm aware of normal machines doing this. The multipliers from the
past hand only stay on the screen until the game is changed or another
hand is played. This was different.

Play a hand on the machine that I played that you think you'll get
multipliers for. You'll see that it's different.

I understand that. That was definitely not the problem. The
multipliers disappeared when I changed the number of coins bet, before
I played the hand.

Re: [vpFREE] New Ultimate X?

To my knowledge, it would be against GCB regulations to "take away" a prize
from a player. Once a player has won an award - such as a multiplier - it
must persist until it is used or cashed out and cannot simply be removed. A
more familiar example is that a casino can't run a progressive, and when
the progressive value gets high, pull the progressive and basically steal
the player contributions.

Perhaps you switched denomination? The multipliers are specific to the
denom you are playing.

Re: [vpFREE] New Ultimate X?

Tom,

I know of a few variants on the standard machine.
1) New-looking one with scrolling selection of games.
These show the already played multipliers from the previous hand,
even when you change games.
2) All-Star makes bartop & standard games, where UltimateX is one of
the video poker options.
3) Some multi-game machines have single-line UltimateX.
4) Some machines have paytable/multiplier variations (e.g. Jacks 9/6
with 10X for flush).

Try playing 3-play nickels/quarters for 10 coins to see what happens.

If you play until the the multipliers are gone,
usually you won't lose more than $4 (nickels) or $20 (quarters).

$8 (nickels) or $40 (quarters) loss happens once in a while, but is
rare.

Since it's the Mirage the paytables will probably be pretty bad,
but no worse than 95.6% (Jacks 6/5).

[vpFREE] Re: Recommendation for a Host at Palace Station?

I receive 1 monthly mailer good for ALL Station Casinos, including free play, multiplier days, and food comps, etc. However, I do receive special offers from independent places such as free invitation to tournaments, additional free play, extended stays, entertainment tickets, and room upgrades, etc.

I currently receive mail and email from both PS and AS.

> >

Also, Air Fare Reimbursement is probably the Highest form of Comp that a casino can offer, as it's an actual "tangible/hard" comp with a really $$$ cost attached to it. Therefore, it is the hardest to get. Other more experienced folks on these boards may chime in.

[vpFREE] Re: Trump Plaza AC

I didn't -- that was the purpose of my post. The fact that the database still listed some 9/6 JoB machines and I was curious if that needed updating, or perhaps, I may have missed some.

I checked the previous 9/6 machines only to find them all 8/5.

Can anyone confirm whether ALL 9/6 JoB is gone or perhaps update VPFree?

[vpFREE] Re: Which VP Game & What Denomination

Play the FPDW, for at least 406,250 hands per year. Set a bankroll stop loss limit, before you start play, and stick to it. The approximate mathematical Kelly stop loss limit would be about $4000. If your bankroll gets ground down to this limit, whatever you're doing is not working and you need to stop and do something else. If you can't stick to your predetermined stop loss limit and stop, you likely have a gambling addiction and should seek professional help.

Approximate Kelly is variance/edge bets, so for your FPDW it's 26/.008=3250 and for your NSU it's 26/.004=6500. Take your $15,000 bankroll and divide by 2 then divide by the Kelly number, so that's $2.30 for FPDW and $1.15 for NSU. The N0 number is 26/.008/.008=406,250 hands. You should plan on playing at least this number of hands per year, if you can't, luck will be dominant over skill in your results and keep in mind that you can't carry forward losses from a losing year, which would take a bite out of your edge. For example, say you win $1000 in your first year but lose $1000 in your second year, seems like that should be a net breakeven result but as far as Uncle Sam is concerned, you owe taxes on the $1000 gain year and you don't get a credit for the $1000 loss year. Yes this is unfair taxation but don't expect any change anytime soon.

The NSU earn rate is greater at more than $2.50 per hand, but you need a bankroll on the order of 6500 x 2 x $2.50 = $32,500 and the N0 jumps up to 26/.004/.004= 1.6 million hands. If you happen to have the bankroll and can play at least that many hands per year, that is the better dollar/hour play.

I need help determining which game I should play, for what denomination and for how long a session should be.

Background:
1. My total bankroll is %15000.00
2. My games and minimum returns including cash back and free play which I play now are:
FPDW @ 100.8 (only available in $.25 denomination)
NSU Dueces @ 100.4 (available in all denominations but usually at the .25 Denomination and some in multiple hand machines).
JOB @ 100.2 (available in all denominations and again some in multiple game machines).
BP @ 100.2 (available in all denominations).
3. My average speed of play on single line machines is 700/hr.
4. My play as perfect as humanly possible as I practice for at least an hour on VP For Winners before going to the casino.

I live in LV 6 months out of the year (snowbird) and am willing to play at any casino in the area to keep, increase and my maximize my bankroll.
