If you stay at Sam's Town don't walk to Charlie's Boulder even in the light
of day. I live inbetween and hear the police chopper circling around and
around about once ever 2 hrs. There's a huge daily weekly place at the corner of
Nellis and Boulder with very desperate people who do a street robbery then
jump back into the complex. Same at Boulder and Indios near Charlie's. In the
Big Lots shopping center I've seen cop cars hiding in the shadows waiting for
robberies to happen.

I've noticed gang graffiti inside the south parking garage of Sam's Town for
a couple of months [next to the RV park] I pointed it out to a bicycle guard
and he seemed disinterested saying, they will take care of it in time. It's
on trash cans and on the walls. How tacky Sam's Town, Shame on you.

Coast Casinos in general has gotten more cheapo over the years, the
most glaring instance of that being their recent slashing of
comps/cashback by 2/3. The fact that they try to "compensate" for
that by offering locals/repeat customers mutiple point days and
other promos, plus their "tier" player card system that offers
another way for habitual, er, loyal customers to compensate for the
point-slash, says exactly ONE thing: "we don't give a rat's ass
about casual visitors". If you just drop in from out of town, you'll
get screwed on comps and cashback; that's evidently just what they
want.
As a rule, if you're an out-of-towner, you have to concentrate on
those casinos that cater to tourists. The best of those are
the "outliers"; geographically disadvantaged joints that have to
work to attract customers. Coast obviously feels that the GC isn't
as isolated as other locals' casinos, so they don't have to swell
the ranks of customers with out-of-towners.
By contrast, Silverton, AZ Charlie's West, and Fiestas, to name a
few, actively market to out-of-towners AND have good VP. The
Stratosphere is very generous with room offers, as are the Plaza,
Main Street Station, and El Cortez downtown--all of those have good-
to-excellent VP. Check the database for specifics.

BTW, every kid from where I'm from has done duty picking and shelling
butterbeans and black eyed peas(along with their cousins, field peas,
crowder peas, and purple hull peas) at harvest time. If you want to
see some kids scatter, just walk towards where they are playing with
a bushel basket in your arms. They'll scatter in all directions for
fear of garden duty. If you want to keep the kids out of the house
just set a bushel basket full of peas or beans on the porch. They
won't come within a hundred feet of it for fear of shelling duty.

Hi, I am quite new to vpFREE. Am enjoying greatly the posts and the group, since I love Vegas and am getting the poker strategy down! Whoo hoo. I cannot remember who posted earlier about comps and mailings. But it was mentioned that folks from out of state do not get mailings from Gold Coast. Is that really true? We are staying there for the first time next week and hopefully generate some offers our way for the future. I know that every hotel/casino has their own secret marketing. But why would GC not offer to non-locals? We live in AZ and it is quite easy for us to zip up there. Just wondered. Anyone have any ideas? We are low to medium rollers and I am really looking to get some offers .
