Wow. It just goes to show you how tastes differ. For my own part, I
love vegetables, and am not a picky eater in general, but there are
two foods that I cannot even force down; they activate my gag reflex.
One of them is yams/sweet potatoes, and the other is----LIMA BEANS.
Those two vegetables, I find extra repulsive when cooked the
Midwestern/1950'
are the consistency of used Kleenex.
Were I the hapless Winston Smith in "1984", and told to go to "Room
101" (which harbors, for each individual that enters it, "the worst
thing in the world"), there would be a sadistically grinning matron
waiting there for me with a bowl of mushy, overcooked LIMA BEANS.
