Bob Dancer said on his radio show that Dotty's have NSUD.
Liz Benston has a good article in today's LV Sun about Dotty's and the tavern controversy. It says there are 64 Dotty's in Nevada. I just saw a new one going in at Lake Mead and Simmons.

Oh, and I saw a picture of the winners of the VV jackpot. I was not
generalizing.

Actually, I was hoping that an Alaskan Eskimo would win, but I am often
disappointed.
I would prefer that a legal U.S. citizen win. Beyond that, I have no
preferences.
Either way, I won't lose any sleep over it.

And I feel very welcome when I come to Nevada from Canada, land of the whimsical nickel throwing foreigners! However I shall make a point of not throwing my nickels about in San Diego where intolerance at someone's good fortune seems to have taken a grip. I shall continue to tip my canoe in the right direction namely Las Vegas or Reno and hope that I continue to be welcomed as I have always been for the last forty years.

If I understand the calculations correctly, on the deal, I will receive dealt trips about once every 46.3 hands.
---I get 47.3 as follows: pick the rank (13 possible), pick 3 of the 4 cards of that rank (4 possible), pick 2 of the 12 other ranks to complete the hand (12 * 11/2 = 66 possible), pick 1 of the 4 cards of one rank (4 possible), and lastly, pick 1 of the 4 cards of the other rank (4 possible)...multiply together to get 54,912 possible dealt hands that contain three of a kind (but not a full house or quads). Divide 2,598,960 by 54,912 to get about 47.3.

...I received 1 dealt trip in 1,500 trials.
---You can use the binomial distribution to calculate (Excel has this too). You want to know the probability of 1 success in 1500 trials with the probability p of a success equal to 54,912/2,598,960, and with q = 1-p.
P(1 dealt trip in 1500 hands)
= C(1500, 1) * p^1 * q^(1500-1)
~4 X 10^(-13), or about 1 in 2.5 trillion (back-to-back dealt royals would be 6 times as likely)

They sell booze so they are a tavern. 15 lousy machines-you would think that the Gaughan's and the Fertita's would have better things to worry about.

That's my info as of now. I will update that if I hear different.

The article mentions Terribles funbooks as an example of a place that is still couponing. I read that they stopped giving funbooks in late 2010. Have they restarted? Or this this article incorrect?
