When I first noticed it, it was about 13,000. Probably about 3 days later it was almost 25,000. There was a small group of Philipinos that probably monopolized it for that time period, although I only stopped by a few hours each day, and they were there each time banging away. It's an Indian casino in Central California and this particular casino does not have much in the way of video poker, although they used to. There are a lot of Super 8 Race games.

Someone had hit it when I checked this morning. There is also another one for quarters I found that is currently over 9000.

The game had a smaller drop and lower variance than Super 8 Liner, but much longer odds of catching all fruit. I played the game at about 8000 coins in the meter, but only if I didn't have anything else to do. Also, the meter caps at 10,000 coins.

I have been inspired to check some of these Super 8 Race machines since reading this. I found two that were approximately 7000, and someone snapped those off by the second day. I find many that are in the 3000-4000 area. And then, I found one at 25,000. That's 25,000 nickles. It lasted for a few days and there was usually a group of people working on it. During my brief period of checking these, I have seen many that were at zero or just a few dollars. So someone is hitting these.

[vpFREE] Harrah's NOLA Penthouse question

I was just wondering if anyone did the Level V Signature Experience in New Orleans. It mentions that you get the penthouse, but it doesn't say how many bedrooms are in the penthouse. Because the dinner with Chef Besh is for 9 people, you would think that there are enough bedrooms to sleep 9 people, but maybe they expect your guests to provide their own accomodations.

When I tried googling info on the penthouse I found reference to a suites-only penthouse floor, and a fundraiser John Besh did in "the penthouse suite" back in 2010. I would hope that the offer is for "the penthouse suite" not just any suite on the penthouse floor.

If anyone has done this signature experience, can you please describe your accomodations?

Thanks!

[vpFREE] Re: Bob Dancer's LV Advisor Column - 10 JAN 2012

4 team parlays around the valley range from 10-to 1 to 12-1. Don't be fooled when you see 12 for 1, usually on parlay cards.---12 for 1 is actually 11 to 1. Same at the crap table---8 for 1( hard 4) is actually 7 to 1.

I'm just a straight bettor who doesn't shop lines, do middles or any of the things professional handicappers do. The problem is, I don't really know what my win % is based on: dollars won or bets won....and how does that big they get figure in?

I don't know what a 4 for 4 pays but the odds of hitting it are based on it being a coin flip as to whether each of your picks cover. So it would be .5 X .5 X .5 X .5. That's a win percentage of 6.25%. So the chances of hitting a four teamer are 1 in 16.
