[vpFREE] Re: Plaza/LVC

Kind of:
$7.25 if you get a health insurance benefit.
$8.25 if you don't.
Interesting approach.
Source:

Getting into double digits (after the rake from bartender thru mgmt) is very doable. Those (3,300 in Vegas) in the culinary union make over $10/hour base and get "free" health insurance. From googling the subject, t'is >$50K/year gig. Several of our hosts started as servers.

Hey if your a cheapass that's OK. Go get your drink out of the faucett in the restroom. Don't waste that buck on a bottle of water when it is free in the restroom.

When you ask for a service and it is provided and you don't tip that's rude and arrogant not cheap! You are taking advantage of another person because you can get away with it.

Another cheapskate.
Tips are for service not the drink.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Plaza/LVC

I ask for a drink and a water and tip one dollar. Unless it's at the Wynn, where it takes $5.00 to get them interested. I also have some favorite waitresses at the Hard Rock, they also get $5.00 on their first visit then $1.00 afterward.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Plaza/LVC

I tip.
I like to tip.
I'm an American, not Asian or European.
Most service staff greatly appreciate gratuities.
I figure I'm at least partly their employer, as well.

I toke $2 per service event, minimum, and then $1 after that,
in a bottle of water or beer situation.  I don't count it against
any VP, as I would tip the same if I were at a restaurant, and
I have to eat and drink anyway.

If you want to be grumpy and argue law and semantics, you win.
Personally, I'm happy to have some extra ones in my pocket to
make the valet/waiters/concierge/driver/bellhop/whatever happy.

I even used to bake stuff and bring it on long airplane flights to
pass out to the flight staff and my seatmates.  Oh nostalgia.

Anyway, grumpy.  It doesn't cost me much on my wildest
times in Las Vegas to tip moderately generously.  It's a very
small percentage of my bankroll and expense 'account'.

On the other hand, if I was the Manager of the person you
stiffed, I would have had a talk with them.  And then given
them $10 out of my pocket to make it up to them.
She ought not to have called you a name, but...

[vpFREE] Other Vegas restaurants with a view

We've eaten at Eiffel tower several times, and it is good. But slightly less expensive is the Voodoo restaurant at top of Rio, and just about same quality. You can look out of tinted windows but tinting blocks view especially at night, but you can also go outside and sit on the terrace with no windows with great view. Alize at top of Palms has even better food, and great view with no tinting. Nove Italiano top of other Palms tower also has good view, but due to the setup of tables and layout it isn't quite as good For view, and the food isn't as good (in my opinion) as the other three. Only Stratosphere has the rotating restaurant.

(I'm Filled with nostalgia and thinking of a long ago dinner at the top of the now gone Landmark, which did rotate.)

minute, do you need to pay for what you buy in the gift shop? In a bar? In
a clothing shop? You bought a bottle of water,, pay for it.
