Re: [vpFREE] Proposed IRS changes concerning casinos/gamblers

Joel,

Given imprecise guidance, I can't see how anyone can take issue with your interpretation, Joel. However, don't expect that interpretation to be reflected should IRS implement casino-based daily session reporting. (Which was your original point.)

True. Can be repeated "daily."

This is a one-time rebate…not daily. After the first $20,
you need to lose $100 to get another $20 rebate.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Carry Money to LV

There used to be a BofA ATM on the third or fourth floor of the M&M store
overlooking the Strip. Not sure if it still there.

Uh, because the volatility (or at least a close
approximation) can be computed directly without resorting to
the least efficient Monte Carlo sim in history, involving
dozens of hours of play-money(!) video poker for the low,
low price of $79.95 (from which you'll no doubt see your
cut)

"Banks" that have no branches (e.g. Charles Schwab Bank) will rebate ATM fees, and have at least a $1K per day maximum. Using any ATM is a convenience making use of such banks a definite possibility. If the convenience fee for larger withdrawals is waived due to your tier level at a particular casino, you can have your account debited for larger amounts if you want.

You can do a search on BofA's main website, using addresses or just zip codes, for locations of both branches & ATMs.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: Ultimate X Bankroll/Loss

My guess is BP is referring to the fact that the current video poker simulators have very little in common with the actual game of video poker in a casino. A noob could crush Video Poker for Winners and yet get absolutely corn holed and lose the family farm in an actual casino, I'm sure many have. What's the solution? If you must enter a casino, start slow, wager small bets, pennies if possible, and take full advantage of the many freebies that have no play requirements (free tournaments, free drawings, free gifts, free food, free rooms, credit for sitting at a machine or table while not actually wagering, and so on) or very small play requirements to build up your bankroll. Keep careful records, don't just assume you will get the computer optimal EV, because you probably will not. Las Vegas was built on Vegas Blackjack, which was an overlay, for a computer. Figure out (using statistics) what your true EV is looking like at small stakes, before even considering moving up to bigger stakes. Start out with a beginning strategy, like Jacks or Better Quads or Less, or min-cost-royal before moving up to something like Kelly strategy or maxEV which count on accumulating more hands to express their advantage.

It has been several years now, but at BofA, I could draw out almost anything I wanted. As long as I went inside. No ATM for me, lots of fat $20s. If I didn't plan ahead and not get in before Sat afternoon or Sun, I didn't need the cash anyway.

Thank you for this comment. I was referring to my going to the B-Connected website and looking at the Gold Coast's "calendar". Wednesday's do have a listing for "Young at Heart", but there is nothing similar for Monday's concerning "seniors" nor "Young at Heart". Perhaps not everything is at the B-Connected website.
