According to what we saw at TI today, it's true that
the new high-limit room near the slot club doesn't
have any single-line $5 9/6 JoB, but they do have it
in 3/5 play.

The old high-limit room near Isla Restaurant is still
there and still has $5 single-line 9/6 JoB.

And there's plenty of $5 single-line $5 9/6 JoB at TI
not in the high-limit rooms.

Ask for a discretionary comp.

I am home from the hospital for some 18 hours now. My vpFREE (mostly) inbox was over 500 messages four days ago and I now have it down to some 300:-)

I thought I responded to everyone that emailed me, but I apologize if I overlooked someone, there have been quite a few:-)

I am somewhat reluctant to discuss my ailments here, colon problems DO get a little clinical? But as any regular reader of vpFREE knows, I am NOT a private person (still hate eating alone, wish my non-playing wife would accompany me to Las Vegas more often) and greatly enjoy the friendships I have made here.

I will be on the internet quite a bit the next week or so, will try to respond to anyone that cares to drop me a note, or ask me a question. My surgeon tells me to not even consider a trip to Las Vegas before next month so the next Comp Hustler's seminar is at least a month away:-)

Around 4:00 PM PST I am scheduled for a second bout of serious colon surgery.

A message to anyone that cares, and I am always amazed at how many of you are out that care.:-) I can be called on my direct number here in the hospital at 972 981-2682 until about 4:00 PM PST and if all goes well, at the same number probably starting around noonish tommorow. I hope I can watch a little NFL football Sunday. I will post a note here when I feel up to it., I have my laptop here in the hospital.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: Jackpot - Comp - No Thanks

Not like I needed the comps either but I figured it was worth a try. Should I have said to them - Can I have a comp in which you don't take the points from my account?

DRAlNBRAMAGE@aol.com wrote: This makes me wonder. When they take your card back to the computer screen
do the previous tips you've given for royals show up? Not saying you didn't tip
enough Curt, just wondering since they usually have to record and spread out
evenly the player tips amongst the crew. Many times I've notice several
people "helping" in the paying of a jackpot are eagle eyeing the amount I tip to
make sure the person getting the money won't pocket it.

There are so many "it depends" in this problem. If you would have been
talking to the guy with a comp pad in his pocket then maybe no problem. Maybe the
guy who took your card someplace only went as far as his supervisor with the
comp pad. Then the supervisor gets to be a big stingy guy to the lower level
employee and never notice how thin you are from starving, I don't know.

I don't even try for a food comp tip on a Royal anymore as I get so much
free food as it is, big deal. And anyway it's the casino food that's slowly
killing me, overweight, cholesterol, getting caught dumping in a food bag and
being beaten up in the security room etc

When I used to troll for a tip I would always make a joke out of it. "Can I
get a free meal out of this, ha ha?" but only after I handed over a $20 tip
for a $1000 Royal. It never failed to work.

One time at Fiesta Rancho they accidentally dumped nickels in my quarter
hopper fill. "I easily got a comp for 2 at the buffet." but... the guy hovering
over me with the comp pad was a suit inspecting the mistaken hopper fill.

I can't answer this, but swear I'm a right hugger on exit myself.
Nonetheless, I have an unwitting habit of pausing just before turning
the corner into the casino to do a self-check (zipper, shirt tail
tuck, see if slacks are belted at a comfortable waist height, last
minute "adjust", or whatever) -- inevitably to be careened into by
someone entering in haste.

[vpFREE] LVA New Blogs

There are 4 new blogs you can access at lasvegasadvisor.com, including mine which is called Frugal Vegas. You can go to one of these blogs by clicking on the title on the homepage and seeing the current entry. However, since not all of us add an entry every day, you can "subscribe" to one (or more) of the blogs and you will be sent an e-mail with an entry as soon as the author posts it.

To do this, go to the blog which you want to read every time there is a new entry, and down at the bottom right of the page there is a place to put your e-mail address and then click on "Subscribe." You will receive an e-mail right away asking you to verify that you indeed want to subscribe. When you "verify," you will automatically
get each new entry in the blog that particular interests you.

I plan to post whenever I am in the mood - I love not having the deadline of Frugal Fridays - but I imagine I might write more than I did previously.

Re: [vpFREE] XVP TV IN CASINOS

I think we've all noticed that. I wonder why they don't have a state of the
art volume control device so that any nearby person could adjust the volume
from many locations on any tv monitor but the system wouldn't allow repetitive
adjustments by everybody. One adjustment would last a minute at least and if
no one wanted to see another monitor then the adjustment would stay. I
imagine my idea will go into effect when Sam's Town decides to take out the
decorative wagon wheel flood lights over their slant top machines.

A thing I've wondered about is why people entering a maze door bathroom in a
casino, you know the type of doorway, you enter, turn left then turn right
then enter the bathroom. I wonder why when exiting they hug to the left which
is the shortest distance out rather than imagining being on a blind curve on a
narrow mountain dirt road. You might run in to another car that way. The
people entering naturally hug to the right as if on a blind curve themselves,
giving room for a car coming in the other direction. Are you with me so far?
This is no joke. In years and years of entering and exiting doorways like that
only twice have I noticed the person exiting does what I always do, take a
hard step to the right when exiting in order to not run into someone coming in
to the bathroom. Only twice. All the other hundreds of times the other
person almost runs into me and says, "Oh excuse me." When I posted this before the
response was, "The inbound wizzer always has the right of way."

It is so people with bets on games can follow the games while they play
machines or table games. Or stand behind me and yell and hurt my ears.
