Re: [vpFREE] Re: In room safe

We've never been in the suites. Yes I suspect they have them. In regular rooms no. They put in new flat screens and the rooms we've been in only have dressers no safes.

Skalansky and I would play against each other on the Nintendo Golf game at the Bicycle Casino. We were the best there was at that game and playing for $100 a game neither one of us could get up much on the other. Those were the days!

Fw: [vpFREE] First time cruising with NCL

I want to thank everyone that contributed to this
thread regarding the "free" cruise certificates
and how to get the max value out of this offer.
As usual, Misscraps came thru with one of her
OUT-STANDING answers that covered all the bases
and even a couple of thots that I hadn't had
but would have in the future!  And also to those
that later added their 2 cents -- thanks to all
of you--I think I now have a complete "text" on
how to use the NCL free cruise offer . . .
Many, many thanks!

Subject: [vpFREE] First time cruising with NCL

If you have a so-called complimentary cruise certificate from NCL the charges you will pay for includes "guest reservation" (of $175 per person, and everyone has to pay them even though the cruise is so-called 'free') plus "port fees and taxes" which vary depending on ports. This total varies a bit depending on time of cruise, port, type of cabin. These fees total around $300 per person for me for a couple upcoming cruises to Caribbean and Mexico. So that should give u a rough idea.

Fees may be a bit more for Alaska.

This is one reason I feel these "complimentary" NCL cruises are deceptive. Some Harrahs properties describe them as "free" cruises, but $300 upfront isn't free in my book. You must pay these at time of reservation. Getting the insurance is also probably a good idea in case u must cancel.

On top of this you will pay $12.50 per day per person for .......................................

[vpFREE] Re: Newbie & Strategy

Jim thanks. I understand what you said, but cannot correlate how that applies to the strategy I listed. I am missing something and I cannot put my finger on it.

For example Rule # 16: Discard Everything. OK when do you discard everything? When none of the above apply?

When I look at other Strategies it list out all combinations and what to keep and throw away.

We saw this via a movie theater link-up in Las Vegas recently (Regal Village Square Cinemas). I really enjoyed it. The setting was Las Vegas in 1960 with the Duke roughly based on Sinatra as leader of the Rat-Pack and Rigoletto roughly based on Don Rickles. The opera was sung with its correct wordings, but the transcriptions were based on modern idiom (nice touch). The intermission breaks coincided with the Met performance, but there were interviews with the singers, producer and director during this time. If it is rebroadcast, it is well worth the $18 tab.

[vpFREE] Re: New Orleans, anyone?

I was there for the final 4 last year. In order to park in their garage you had to play a certain amount. I played the $1 NSU and was fortunate to hit a wild royal and quit a winner.
It beats paying upwards of $40 for parking.
Shuttle picked us up and took us to Superdome. After the games it was raining and no shuttles were to be found. We walked in the rain back to Harrah's. Was kinda fun.
Good luck.
Enjoy Bourbon ST. There's some real crazies there. I noticed the police were really getting on to women that flashed for beads. They sure know how to ruin it for the rest of us.

[vpFREE] OT Rigoletto sent in Vegas

Re: [vpFREE] New Orleans, anyone?

Just got back from New Orleans. Harrah's quarter games are terrible. The
only decent games I saw were dollar 98.9 deuces, and in the high limit room
they have triple play dollar NSU.
