Well, I'll offer my own apology for a possible misreading and likely having come across a little thin skinned.
I didn't think a definition was in dispute ... I just expressed an opinion that the term "power of the pack" itself didn't shed a lot of insight into what's really at work. (By contrast, I find "penalty card" to get directly to the heart of what the term describes.) I also suggested that your article may have been lacking by citing examples, without providing a gut level generalization that cemented the concept.
But, that is, of course, a matter of opinion. I find it notable that no one else was prompted to weigh in on how strongly the term itself communicates the concept to them, or remark on the article. As such, it's probably a good idea to ditch the discussion.

We are friends and have mutual respect. It's a tough concept to explain --- and Harry and I have different preferences on the best way to simply that explanation. [vpFREE] LVH free play downgrade
$200/trip has been the norm for us for a few years; except for the period when the (MIA) FP Pick'em was reporting as a slot machine. Then we were "high rollers" (remember the "C1 and C2" rating days?).
Last 2 trips to Vegas have been getting $150 each NIGHT stayed and they have been very nice winning trips - apparently with the computer calling this to management's attention.
LVH offer for October thru December received and it is $50/month (room reservation required).
So, our home base casino in Vegas is dead but we went out with a bang.
Oh well, gotta find a new joint.

For the "smaller players."
If you are a winner, you get nothing. If you lose you get something.

It's based on many factors including theo of the game, time playing, and coin-in but being a winner is bad. My wife and I each do approx $80,000 coin-in a month. She gets a $75 a week mailer with the dinner for two coupon because she is losing this year. I get $20 a week and a $15 off any restaurant for being a winner this year.

Really, Bob??
I never considered "obfuscate" to rest among the most arcane reaches of my, or most anyone else's, vocabulary.
I gonna guess that most who read the post got that I generally meant "make obscure". (And for those who didn't, if they googled a dictionary to learn a new word, I don't think that's such a bad thing.)
So why didn't I just say "obscure"? Because the primary implication of "obfuscate" is "to confuse", something that "obscure" doesn't directly communicate.

RE: [vpFREE] Re: WMS Video Poker
Harry wrote: Given the success apparently enjoyed by Action Gaming in defending their "look and feel" patent for multi-play poker, I'm surprised that IGT isn't vigorously challenging this new introduction by WMS.
The Action Gaming Triple Play patent has been used to challenge certain games in the past. It is not, however, a vehicle to challenge all multi-line games. The primary feature of the patent (in my non-lawyer opinion) is that when you hold one or more cards in one hand before the draw, those cards are automatically held in other hands. In Winning Streak the cards move up AFTER the draw (I think --- I concentrated on looking at other games in the WMS booth this year and didn't look at that one.) Also, Multi Strike is not an Action Gaming. It was developed by Leading Edge Design. Five Play Multi Strike is a joint-effort between Action Gaming and Leading Edge Design. Also, Action Gaming now prefers to call themselves videopoker.com Bob
