[vpFREE] Re: Re LVHLas

I don't get to Vegas often, but I play progressives almost exclusively and find this potentially worthwhile visiting LVH next time. However, checking the VP free database on the LVH I didn't see any progressives - can someone update the list for the $1 games that are progressive?

its a dead game. You might want to bring up my vpfree comments about the
game a few months ago, but with the sub par pay schedules, you'll lose much
quicker than 6/5 jacks or better.

[vpFREE] Claimed the DDB 25c Progressive at The Riv!

I wanted to thank everyone in this group as I don't often have much to add, but I do read everything you all contribute!

We have been on vacation in Vegas for the last 10 days, primarily to see the MonsterJam World finals as we have front row seats every year, but I noticed the DDB Progressive at The Riv was up to about $1520.00 and climbing with a number of players working the machines hard. I had some luck early, but then hit a streak were I didn't even hit a 4 of a kind for several HOURS! Took a break, came back later and played some more and about 4am held a 10/Q of Spades and drew the Full Royal Flush! At that point, it was worth $1669 !! To round out the trip I had several big takes at VP from The Fitz, taking away about $1700 in total from there...

Best trip I've had in Vegas in a decade and I have you all to thank!

Again, I apologize if I have offended anyone, and Misscraps in particular.
My curiosity was piqued as this was I believe the third post I had seen in
the last few months which seemed to be an advertisement for the LVH - and I
couldn't understand why or if that was what the posts were meant to be.

Nothing personal was intended -

That's the problem with communicating via email - it's very easy to be
misunderstood when you can't see the other person and most of the time you
don't know them either. You can easily assume the worst, which in this case
I think both of us are guilty of.

Just a suggestion/reminder - When viewing a post, if you look in the right-hand column near the top of the message, you will see the poster's email address, their "off line/on-line" status, and a hyperlink - "send mail" - that you can click on to send a "private message" to the poster. When you have a question or concern that relates specifically to the person posting the message, it might be worthwhile to, at least initially, send your query or concern directly to that individual.

I don't usually get involved in these sorts of things, but I feel strongly that I must comment in this case. Misscraps is a very good reporter on this forum. She gives valuable details that will help all kinds of gamblers get more out of their casino visits. As I have stressed in my writings –not everyone has the same goals and interests. Many video poker players not only play VP but they are interested in other aspects of the casino life – entertainment, dining, atmosphere, amenities. And the administrator has said that all these things are part of the total gambling life and are suitable for this forum.

In my case, I am not interested in gourmet dining. So when someone reports on this subject I just quickly scan over that material and go to other subjects or to other posts. I don't criticize the poster for reporting on some particular subject I am not interested in – I know that there are others who are interested.

Someone who has been on this forum for a long time "knows" Misscraps because she has been posting for a long time. (We become "acquainted" with people online even if we don't know them in person and we can get a lot of information about them by the way they post.) We who "know" Misscraps (online and in person in my case) know she would have no reason to "advertise" any particular casino. She just tells things as she sees them – and is good about telling both the good and the bad about a place or experience. She visits a lot of different casinos and is a valuable resource. I especially like to read her posts to learn about casinos where perhaps I don't usually visit. In fact, I was very glad to read about LVH. That was a place we used to play – and because of her report, I may check it out again. Since a shabby environment doesn't bother us -remember I used to say I would go to hell if there were good games there - we might find it a place that could go back on our play list.

I think we all need to be very careful about negative postings. If you don't like some posters, don't read their posts. If some posts don't interest you, take advantage of that useful "Delete" button. And before you criticize/attack someone personally, say to yourself, " If I met this poster in person, would I say these things to their fact." Hopefully your answer would be: "That wouldn't be polite."

I have never understood people who flail out on the Internet when I am sure that most would not do that, at least so intensely, in person. Don't people realize how your personality is revealed in your words?????????

Misscraps,

" If you are not, fine, so ignore me, but dont question my motives for posting, please".

***Sorry if I offended you in some way, I wasn't trying to be hostile, just curious since your posts sound so much like advertisements. I would think it's okay to clarify if someone is posting because they truly like a place or because they are trying to advertise for it. Two different things.....

"From misscraps, who has been on on VPfree since its inception...."

****Hmmm, I can't really figure out the significance of this, but obviously you meant something by it....and something not kindly towards myself or others "like" me.....(who have not been on VPfree since its inception....)

[vpFREE] XVP: How Keno Was Born in Butte, Montana

I spend 6 to 8 weeks a year in Butte, Montana. Uptown Butte is the largest Historic Landmark District in the U.S. The town sits on the side of a mountain and has a notorious past. However, it's just a shell of it's former self and many buildings are vacant.

I recently discovered that Keno was born in Butte. Today there is only one restaurant left , the Copper King, that has Keno. It's about a 75% ER. They are protected from big payouts. For instance, on an 8-Spot ticket the payout is for "4 out of 8 or better."

Unfortunately air fares are simply higher everywhere.
I follow 2 rules to get the lowest fares:
1. Always buy on Tuesday or Wednesday.
2. Departs and return on those days as well.

If you are near a city with Southwest or Jetblue I would try them. Beware of some cheap flights that require multiple landings and changes of planes. At my age I much rather pay an extra $50 for a direct flight.
