Re: [vpFREE] Bonusing Slots

The group has discussed the "must hit by" progressives. The "Aristocrat" versions are extremely common. Similar games made by other companies as well. Unfortunately the latest chips for the Aristocrat versions slow down the progressive feed rate when a progressive reaches 90% of the max. To determine if one is playable: 1. Determine the progressive feed rates. 2. The expected hit point for these progressives is halfway between the current value and maximum value. 3. Determine the average amount of wagers needed to hit the progressive your chasing and multiply it by the expected loss rate. If the progressive is higher than that figure, it is theoretically playable but you know the variance on these is sky high!

Example: I am from the Chicago area. The Rivers (One of the casinos I monitor.) has these games. The lower progressive starts at $50 and must hit by $100.

Lets say the current progressive is $97. The average hit point is $98.50. The meter feed rate is 1c per $4. $1.50 of average meter move. Expected average wagers to hit is $600. I estimate the loss rate at 16% (Probably around 10%-12% in LV). Average cost to hit is $96 so this game is barely playable. The second progressive on this machine gives me a little cushion.

I hope this helps.

I need a very current update from someone who has actually seen or played one in the last 6-12 months.  I haven't seen one myself or heard a recent report about any.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: TR gift cards

Agonpond,

Yes, I noticed that the Tanger Outlets weren't listed in the online list. It was, however, listed on the paper handed out by the Ballys AC Total Rewards desk. They also verbally confirmed that the new cards could not be used at the Pier Shops. I have not yet used my cards so can't give first hand report.

Vpking77,

The card used in January would not be the same as the new card which just started to be issued in April, 2014 with the start of the new benefits year. It bears no logo other than Total Rewards and on the back states it is issued by Four Corners Community Bank pursuant to a license by MasterCard International. "Card can be used only at authorized merchants designated by Caesars Operating Company that accept MasterCard cards."

At the Total Rewards website they have pictures of the old cards (two styles) that are still good at the Pier Shops, and the new card which is not.

Hope this adds some clarity rather than more confusion.

Bill

I got the TR $500 card in January of 2014. It has the Discover Card designation. When I went into the Pier Shops Apple Store at that time they told me I couldn't convert it to an Apple gift card but I could use it to buy Apple merchandise. I was saving it to buy the iPhone 6 that is coming out in September. You are saying that Pier Shops has changed their policy in the same calendar year and now the TR $500 card is no longer accepted in the Apple store.

Re: [vpFREE] TR gift cards

In addition to the casino outlets that accept the new TR gift cards (from the 2014 7* program) they are good in Atlantic City at merchants that are part of the Atlantic City Local Perks program ( http://www.totalrewards.com/atlantic-city/things-to-do/events/local-perks-partners.html ). This according to a list given out at the Total Rewards desk at Ballys Atlantic City.

That includes several restaurants and stores in the area plus the whole Tanger Outlets The Walk complex near Caesars.

Unfortunately, as others have said, the Pier Shops at Caesars are no longer included, so I can't use the new cards at the Apple store there. Old Total Rewards Visa gift cards from last year's program are still accepted at the Pier Shops. The new cards do not have any Visa designation on them.

are you referring to caesar's las vegas? for atlantic city, this is the current list i am going by. and on the phone i was told pier shops were no longer available for gift cards (they may still be available for reward credits). these are gift cards obtained through Tier points earned above 7* 150,000, not Reward Credits. thanks for all the feedback, though.

I just looked online at the list and it does include some shops in Forum Shops and Miracle Mile including the Apple store. If you are considering Apple products, check the price in Caesars gift store, and compare to the price in the apple store with the cost of converting TR points into a TR Gift card.

TR gift cards can also be used to pay for tips, which I have found useful in Caesars restaurants. Sometimes they will have to charge at least $1 for food, then add on the tip.
