I got the TR $500 card in January of 2014. It has the Discover Card designation. When I went into the Pier Shops Apple Store at that time they told me I couldn't convert it to an Apple gift card but I could use it to buy Apple merchandise. I was saving it to buy the iPhone 6 that is coming out in September. You are saying that Pier Shops has changed their policy in the same calendar year and now the TR $500 card is no longer accepted in the Apple store.
