Re: [vpFREE] Re: Volatility question

This needs clarification. The variance takes each possibility and the difference each possibility is from the overall expected value of the game, squares each of these differences, and then adds those squares. Imagine a game that has 4 possibilities. If 3 of them occur, 1 unit is lost. If the 4th occurs, the player wins 3 units. The expected value of the game is 0. The variance is therefore 3/4 x ((0 - 1) ^ 2) + 1/4 x ((3 - 0) ^ 2) = 3.

[vpFREE] Re: Volatility question

By "Volatility" I assume you mean "variance".

Variance, a common statistics value, is calculated by multiplying the probability of each final result by the square of its actual win (or loss) in betting units and summing all of those products.

FPJoB = 19.51
FPDW = 25.83
5 7 10 Double Bonus = 28.26
6 -10 Double-double bonus = 38.43

I got these using the beta version of OpVP. I did not do them by hand. If anyone wants to check them???

[vpFREE] Greektown Bonus Play Help

If any of the Greektown regulars are willing to process free play for me please contact me ASAP to discuss details. I visited for the first and only time last month and received some juicy bounce back I'd hate to see go to waste. Time is of the essence as the date of first use was actually yesterday before I even got the mailer.

Thanks!

[vpFREE] The Drought continues

Video Poker wise and otherwise.
Just came back from Vegas. Played at the Palms on their progressives quite a bit.
Had more draw to Royals than I ever have. I think at least 6. Came back with more than I left with, but not by much. Never did hit the dueces. Peeing in the #6 urinal certainly wasn't much help on this trip.

Other drought is here in the Panhandle of Texas. We've had less that a quarter of an inch of rain this year. Fires are a very common occurance. There have been many houses burned this year. WE NEED RAIN!!!

If your bankroll is greater than the limit the casino will allow you to win before they cut you off, the odds are in your favor.

Thanks everyone! I will probably be there tomorrow (or Wednesday) and
sometime on the weekend. As I find out what is happening, I will adjust the

[vpFREE] Re: Story on Blackjack Player's $5.8 Win at AC Trop

It's been my greatest complaint about playing at the Palms. Sometimes the distractions are so omni-present it's hard to get out hands.

I doubt if it causes me errors, but it sure takes a few hands off the old HPH. I complained once to the casino manager, "Hay look I have a complaint!" "Yes"..."Your staff is a bit too good looking and it's very distracting. Any chance you could hire more people that look like you?"

He laughed a lot.

I think the casino is wrong on both counts--any expert BJ player worth his salt aint gonna be distracted by ANYTHING, and second, a lot of good players are female (they're so good they fly under the radar). Which brings me back to VP--I didn't notice the best looking cocktail waitresses to distract us around the full pay VP when I was in Las Vegas...any opinions???
