Hardcore VP players play millions of hands per year. Even the weekend warrior who plays 20 hours per weekend at 1000 hands per hour logs a million hands per year. Someone like Frank "Secret World of Video Poker" in his prime probably averaged 100 hours per week at 3000 hands per hour which is over 15 million hands per year.

[vpFREE] Not So Grand - But Still Downtown

 

     Check out today's (11/10) Las Vegas Advisor Today's News column and the article Devaluation at Downtown Grand.  This was reported earlier by others on these pages, but the LVA commentary is rightfully very harsh - "casinos tend to open loose  and adjust later, but the adjustment at DG came at record speed."
    Up to this  point DG did everything right when it came to design, planning, PR, and launching - and then they blew it - "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory."  With that dumb move they have written off a lot of potential customers including yours truly.  Sound marketing means that you offer something for the broadest market base - instead of dumbing down.  We'll see what this means for the future of DG.

Note this game generates lots of W-2G's.  Playing in High Limits at Gold Coast and never tipping might increase the risk of ruining your chance to play at Boyd properties and still get mailers.

You are doing it correctly. You do realize that the edge is almost nothing (around 0.1%) so the bankroll will be huge. The closer your edge gets to zero (playing breakeven) the higher the bankroll you will need because you are approaching an infinite bankroll being needed by playing a negative game. I would suggest finding a different game to play with a bigger edge, for example you can expect to make the same amount hourly by playing full pay quarter deuces and the bankroll requirements are around $5000 depending on slot club.

Very simple, play 100-play JOB at 1-cent or 5-cent denom with a decent free play offer to offset the house advantage of less than 1/2%.   The number of hands played add up very quickly to reach statistical significance.
