Wrong. No effect on EV. Just lower variance, and it would be easier to see
what you've hit!

I don't see why the EV would be affected. Variance would be lower due to the negative correlation of the different lines, but every line would have the same EV as if it were a single line machine.

[vpFREE] SpinPoker Question

 

I've never played fewer than the full-play 9 lines. But I've been asked a
question about playing just 3 lines. This person says that if you play 3
lines, the machines has you play just the top, middle, and bottom straight
across, no lines intersecting, and therefore no chance to get multiple
royals, quads, etc.on a draw (you could if you were dealt them) since you
are still playing just out of one deck. Seems like this lower the EV
considerably, right or wrong??????

Frank,

I'm surprised you didn't see through this one. For one, it has been a scam email on vpfree before ( probably before you joined). Two, it has been sent through many other email messages in the past. Three, and most obvious, is the wording in the message. Read one of Mickey's posts and then read that post. It's pretty obvious that it's not the same person. Four, a cell phone and credit card? I'm thinking Mickey might not have either of those and I doubt he would pay for the international calling feature if he travelled to Europe. Five, Mickey doesn't seem like a London kind of guy. Montana yes, England no. Lastly, as many scrapes as he has worked himself out of, I don't think he'd be asking for money on vpfree. The scammers picked the wrong email address to use.

Serious question. I know what I've read, and how it affect me, however, what do the rest of you think? After just posting, I went to my email for the 1st time today and found this:

An ap friend once commented to me when we were walking thru a casino that he'd be excellent working in casino security, because he's spent so much time in casinos that he can spot many more scams than a security guard can.

I'd offer 10-1 odds that Mickey has never been off this continent, unless he was in the Armed Forces.

I am sure that the email is a scam.
Simply the fact that it has a different email address is more than enough proof.

In all of his posts, I've never read one wherein he mentions family in any way (I haven't read every one of them).

7* rating costs about $10K/year. The free airplane trip ain't worth it. Still can fly from Boston to Vegas for under $300.
That's non-stop with pretty good seats and my own TV.
I'm satisfied with the price of the plane ride. Not satisified with the gambling once we get there:-)

A group search on messages posted by him shows that it's not unprecedented
for him to go 2-4 days without posting, and back in March there was even a
2-week gap. I wouldn't automatically assume something's wrong --
maybe he's stuck on a slow-moving freight train somewhere :-) Or maybe
he's just otherwise not reading his email and doesn't even know his
account got hijacked yet.

That being said, if someone does know him personally, it wouldn't hurt to
try to make contact.
