Re: [vpFREE] Re: LVRJ: Caesars changing Quad's name to Linq Hotel & Casino

We certainly missed the "golden age" at Caesars but still frequent it and have fun.  We're splitting time between Wynn and Caesars near the end of August.

Well, I'm still singing praises for CLV ... we burn one one or both of our annual trips to return each year (with our next visit just a little over 4 weeks from now)

No doubt, everything's "thinner" these days.  But CLV still rates as one of our finer experiences.

Caesars used to be spectacular!  I can remember attending NYE events where a beautiful gift was part of the attraction.  One year we received a Bose clock radio; another year beautiful crystal!  These days you can't even get a cup of coffee in your room without spending $3.00 per cup (ok, in points).

Posted a reply in this new yahoogroups format that can't get used to; pushed the wrong button and deleted; so summarizing my reply but will probably show up in daily digests.

We also have moved on but remember the glory days that ended around 2005 after they became a megalith and then start of the disappearing fair bets around 2011 after they went private acquiring $20,000,000,000 in debt. 20 x 10(9th) -Billion with a B.

Truly it was "Hail Caesars" for about 10 years. Then 5 years of fair bets. Now all gone and we have also gone to places "where we get offers and are treated better." No more upgrades to first class on nonstop flights as frequent flyers; limo ride from airport; suites, banquets and tourneys.

All we are looking for now is a fair bet.

Re: [vpFREE] Re: NCL Getaway video poker and blackjack rules

The csm article indicates that tracking a mere 16 cards out of an 8 deck shoe (416 cards) is effective.  How can that be?  It is less than 4% of the cards.

I just got off the Celebrity Summit.  VP  was bad but BJ is 8 deck hand shuffled  $10 minimum and dealer hits soft 17. BJ pays 3 to 2 except on the single deck game.

[vpFREE] Re: Progressive strategy change and variance

Get Frank Kneeland's excellent, excellent book on video poker progressive pros. It has a ton of information on progressives, much of which I had never seen before.

If you want to approach progressives as a business, this is the book to have.

Re: [vpFREE] the Cromwell

We were there last week, but used valet so I don't know about public parking there, except that we talked quite a while with the guy at the valet desk. He did say they were so short on valet parking space that they were using the public parking garage now. I'm not sure if he meant they took over the entire garage or just the first floor. My impression was that he meant only partial and that there was still some public parking in the garage. He said the day/night club is so popular parking is horrible there. He said they get 4,000 patrons there and they only have parking for 1,000 cars, so you can imagine what a stress that puts on the parking situation at the Cromwell.

I found the Cromwell as a gambling joint hadn't changed much from Barbary/Bills days. High Limit was about 4 VP and 4 slot machines (all $1 5 coin), so that is quite a joke. Hotel check-in and the restaurant looked to be nicely remodeled.

One odd tidbit, while there I walked next door to the Flamingo to get a bunch of cards with my picture on the back of them (eliminates having to always pull out your drivers license). To my sorrow, they said their new system no longer works with the picture software, so they no longer can print cards with your picture on them. Flamingo was the last CET property in LV that could do that for the past few years.

[vpFREE] Re: Advice on 7* annual dinner and Free monthly Tickets (Any Caesar owned Vegas Property)

I used my $500 Seven star dinner at Old Homestead steakhouse at Ceasrs. Service and food was outstanding. Share the baked Alaska for dessert. The child will like the flames. I often get monthly seven Stars tickets and hand them off to relatives. No problem
